View Full Version : Your tax dollars at work - Brady's jersey

I would guess that the cost to recover the jersey was probably pretty close to the value of the jersey at auction.

They need some dude at the head of the FBI that has a "who gives a fuck" stamp.

Agent: "hey boss...Tom Brady's jersey was stolen"
Boss: "who gives a fuck"

Seriously...we're spending money for this shit? A fucking jersey.

While the 39-year-old quarterback still has all five of his Superbowl rings, the team's owner, Robert Kraft, is lacking one of the heavy, diamond-encrusted mementoes.

Russian President Vladimir Putin walked away with Kraft's ring commemorating the team's 2005 win over the Philadelphia Eagles when the two met later that year. Kraft has said that he intended only to show Putin the ring but the leader kept it. The team's owner subsequently released a statement saying he had given the ring to Putin as a gift, after the White House told him that doing so could improve diplomatic relations, according to local media accounts from the time.

:lmao never knew this

Are all illegitimate Presidents beholden to Putin?

I was actually going to mention something like that. You get your Iphone stolen with all your info and bank accounts etc. But you tell that to the cops and they'll say you should have kept up with it better. Meanwhile, someone steals a shirt from a multi multi millionaire and the feds are on it. And now, they'll give Brady back his $500,000 jersey. And he's just going to pass it down anyway. To his heirs that are already going to be incredible wealthy.

Brady needs to man up and cover that damn FBI bill.

No, the state of Texas does. All Brady did was report a stolen item. He didn't ask for FBI involvement. Texas officials were the ones who wanted whip their 12 inch "Don't Mess With Texas" cocks out to prove a point, they made a big deal about sending Texas Rangers and national investigators to solve this crime.

He stuck his jersey in his bag at his locker. He's busy celebrating with his teammates and doing media interviews. It's not on him that someone went into his locker and took it out of his bag. That's on the locker room security guards.

Feb. 5, 2017 - Patriots win Super Bowl LI; Brady’s jersey goes missing again

Brady and the Patriots executed a dramatic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons, taking a Super Bowl to overtime for the first time in NFL history. After the game, Brady discovered that his jersey was missing (http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2017/2/6/14519180/tom-brady-super-bowl-jersey-stolen-patriots-falcons). He appeared to be “flustered” and immediately enlisted help from team equipment managers and security personnel.

Brady thought his jersey had been taken by someone from his locker. The all-star QB immediately began to panic, looking around frantically and calling in team security and equipment staffers to help him look for his prized possession. “It was right here. I know exactly where I put it,” he said. After several minutes digging through bags, he added, “This is not good. It was right here and now I don’t have it. Not good.”

Take one fucking guess who Donald Trump's favorite sports team and owner is? :lol

As the story goes, Kraft handed the diamond-studded ring to Putin as a bit of show and tell. “I could kill someone with this ring,” Putin reportedly said as he fitted it on his finger. When Kraft held out his hand to get it back, Putin, surrounded by KGB agents, wordlessly slipped the ring into his pocket.

http://fortune.com/2017/02/06/patriots-owner-kraft-putin-ring/

I'm actually not convinced Putin knowingly "stole" the ring. I think so many under the table type gifts are given in Russia that he may have genuinely thought it was a "gift". It would be hysterical if SNL somehow integrated this into one of their skits... I can just see Putin walking onto the set with his shirt off and Kraft's superbowl ring on. :lol

He gave it to a league employee. He followed protocol. Had he put it in a site safe and the manager of the place taken it, would you say he didn't secure it well enough? Dude just won the Superbowl in the most GOAT fashion ever, and you expect him to be worried about his jersey? That's what team employees and security is for.

He barely cares at all. He cared enough to tell someone it was missing, then make a joke about it, and then just celebrated his win. Two years ago, his SB49 jersey was stolen and there wasn't a peep about it in the media, because the Arizona law enforcement didn't put on a dog and pony show about finding the thief. The waste of taxpayer money is 100% on the Texas officials who made such a big deal of it.

There's video of him handing it to a NFL/team employee. He later put it in a duffel bag in the locker room that requires a color coded pass, is protected full time by security and was full of other players and coaches.

The FBI doesn't get involved until it's determined to be an international or crossing state lines affair. Without a suspect, how is that possible?
Oh that's right, the NFL security team found the suspect and notified the FBI.

Pretty sure no one wants your pants or your shirt. If they were stolen and the value was assessed at half a million, the FBI would get involved if the crime crossed state lines. It wasn't that big a deal (previous articles were not traced) until the value assessment was made.
