86 = no more confounders like "but it's not fair they won the season series 2-1 because we only played them once at home". In an 86 game season, every team plays all conference rivals 4 times and interconference opponents twice. It's like the good old days before the Charlotte Bobcats came into the league. Perfect

Expand the regular season?

Fuck, has OP ever had a thought that didn't demonstrate serious mental disability?

Yeah because tiebreakers make a lot of difference in the nba

Why not go to 87, play every other team 3 times, and eliminate conferences while you're at it?

Season should be 58 games long, play each team twice. Every team plays once every two or three days. Erase divisions and conferences. Top 16 teams qualify. And that's it.

Er Are you crazy? If anything the regular season should be lowered to about 60 games. And add stakes to make the regular season more interesting like instead of getting 1 extra home game for having a better record, the entire series is at home for the team with the better record

Only after you expand your brain. Expanding your asshole for jamal to penetrate does not count.

No way NBA cuts on games. But if only, I can only see reducing them this stupid ass random 3 games vs team. 24x2 + 4x4 = 64.

the way I see it, rivals and contenders should be playing each other more for, contenders vs scrub teams = 2 games only...

contenders playing against each other more games h2h = more money for league?

loser teams vs loser teams increase h2h games = they still cant even pad the wins to get a playoff spot, that's just how bad it is

A 50-game season would be ideal for several reasons:

1) better TV games and more TV revenue
2) no dud games on national TV
3) veterans don't get injured all the time
4) longer careers for stars
5) more drama for regular season playoff chase

There are other reasons as well.

Here's an idea:

- Eliminate conferences and go with five divisions of six teams each

- A 68-game regular season (four games against division opponents, home-and-home against everyone else)

- Seed 1-16 in the playoffs with some sort of reward for division champs regardless of record (maybe automatic home court in the first round)
