Surprised how well he played, tbh, after being buried on the bench for so long... it was against a trashy team, but good signs IMO, in case we need him for spot mins...

Just needs to be a little bit more assertive with his shot. He needs to take Lessons from Bertans.

Bertans might end up getting minutes in the playoffs. He really opens up the floor because if he plays as a 4, his movement in addition to his shooting creates a lot of space.

Forbes was a calamity on defense. He made Parker look like an all-D team candidate.

I am not impressed at all. He truly is so bad defensively. Not even fundamental and just over powered, but flawed defensive mechanics as a whole.

Sure, he can shoot (when he doesn't hesitate) but he is not seemingly able to create for himself at all.

I expect nothing from him on defense... he's clearly overmatched at this level. That's why I said spot mins (or a defined role, like Bonner)...

Forbes is a spot up situational player. If he's not hesitating to take three's he doing just fine.

People overreacted in summer league and have overrated the other way during the season.

I'm not saying he will be, but why can't he be Daniels or Clark? They have the same limitations, yet are both fringe rotation types.

Small sample size and lots of key players out on both sides in most cases, but the games both him and Bertans have been in the rotation, they've actually looked like a modern offense.

Yup.

As far as their roles are concerned, they've been doing fine. Bertans doing better than fine. Still impressed with Bertans...very little hesitataion in his offense.

He was ok.
He is going to be overmatched on defense every single time.
He doesn't have any tools to defend even adequately. He's weak, average in athleticism, no quick feet or hands, no length, and undersized.
He can shoot though and he seems like a smart player that will play within himself and the system and not do uncharacteristic things or have shaktin a fool moments. Pop usually likes role players like that.

When he is making his shots you can afford to play him a few minutes...

If Dedmon doesn't work out, I could see Pop going with Anderson, or Bertans as the starting four vs GSW if they play in the WCFinals. Both of them are solid options tbh.

Bye bye Patty.

j/k I'm probably the only one here, that would pay him 15mio/year.

I thought Forbes was touted to be Gary Neal plus defense, instead he's Gary Neal with no in-between game and a hesitant trigger.

Don't ever mention Forbes' name in the same breath as Gary Neal. He isn't even worthy enough to sit on Neal's spot on the bench.

Neal is one of the most underrated scrap heap pickup ever considering how much the Spurs were able to squeeze out of him right away and until his last season..

Clearly one of many mistakes that were made this year regarding roster construction.

Too bad the FO made so many of these in a year were their performance was essential.

sad thing is the Red Mamba would be more useful in the playoffs that Forbes will be.

Not sure why Lapussy is being mentioned in this thread... :lol he's even worse.

Lapussy in Europe this season:
4.3ppg, 1.0rpg, 2.9apg, 29.7FG%, 27.1 3P%

Forbes in the D-League this season:
23.4ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.7apg, 50.2FG%, 45.9 3P%

yacht me neither, but people were hollering for Nando as well. That being said Gary Neal or Matt Bonner would at least offer something, to the lineup. I can't see what Forbes brings to the table either now or in the future, unless he game completely transforms.

Wonder if BonBon has gotten over Popped leaving him for a younger man?

Spurs players aren't trying to crack any scoring threshold. If you don't know that, you're not really a good doctor.
