(a) he wants to get back his rhythm after dismal few weeks shooting the ball (3pt) or (b) he cares about det MVP :lol..

Doubt he plays all of them..I would sit him against the Lakers and the last road trip..

We'll see how much of a sway the "Big One" has with Pop these days..

He probably plays all 82 next year.

Hoping Pop convinces him to sit at least one game betweem now and the playoffs.

Been reading a lot of rest and injures today and those muscles get vurneable as the workload piles up.

Poor Kawhi. He's so naive. Does he really think that a player on a Pop's team can have an opinion about this?

Pop didn't even let him play the last 2 minutes of this close game :lol

He'll start and play 15 minutes, first 6 of each half and 3 in the second.

Harden likely wins MVP. Kawhi may just want to stay in rhythm carry over into the playoffs.

Grant Hill to come out of retirement to break Kawhi's arm in season finale.

Obviously no chance. Every top nine player probably sits at least one of the four in five stretch and most probably sit one of the final two as well.

That's why today somewhat surprised me. I knew he'd rest Ginobili after 27 minutes Friday night, but I figured the others would play.

He's going to overdo his shtick again and eliminate any chance of this team getting in rhythm or individual players getting somewhat used to handling extended minutes.

:pop: "That's it - Kawhi is getting benched for the rest of the season until he gets over himself!"

:pop: "What was that, Tony? You want to play 48 minutes a night every night for the rest of the season while taking every single shot? Why didn't you say something sooner? Let's make it happen."

Basketball is a rhythm game like playing an instrument, but harder on the muscles. There are no b2b's is probably his point. He's getting rest.

Kawhi's ego is getting too big. Poop will humble him by sitting him in the closing minutes of our closeout game in round one of the playoffs, tbh. That ought to shut him up, tbh.

Hopefully Pop will use this opportunity to teach Kawhi that winning as a team is more important than an individual accolade.

Like Kawhi was going to say "Im tired, I need some time to rest my body".

And of course if he did there would be a stupid thread about that. You guys so silly :rolleyes

No one of importance should go on that final road trip against Portland and Utah. Stay home and rest. Until then work on your game on all these home games and nearby Dallas.

Kawhi is kind of right on this. When he's on a rhythm and pop rests him, he comes back looking like farewell tour Kobe.

With Nurkic going out, it's clear Golden State's yearly string of luck is about to start. Depleted opponents all the way to the finals.

I've been saying this the entire season...and Kawhi realizes... You can't keep sitting this team and switching stuff up...guys loose their rhythm, and its not like theyve been playing together for years...it's quite possible we are in the top half of the league when it comes to different starting lineups... This isn't the big 3 that had over a decade of playing with each other, so when they rest and come back, it is seamless...pop keeps wondering why we get off to slow starts, or are inconsistent offensively... Well THAT'S why!!! We can be so much better with more chemistry... And kawhi especially needs to be kept in rhythm as a jumpshooter... Or else once again we may go down in flames to a worse team come playoff time

It won't stop Poop from micromanaging him even during those games..Yeah, like a 15 minutes burn in one half was going to help him keep that rhythm..

If it's really Kawhi's team, Pop should give him a say. He knows his game, and if that's what he needs to stay in rhythm. And I think Kawhi knows they better not drop the first game at home against the Grizz. Pop should play him. Maybe only 20-25 minutes. But he should trust his guy.

Good. I'd rest everyone tomorrow night too just to keep the Clippers out of the Spurs' bracket.

"Heroballing is what I live for. I love being the man. If he sits out I can be that. Plus if he's rusty once the playoffs starts I have a good reason to heroball on the playoff stage!"

Tbf if any rotation guy other than Porker suffered an injury playing in a meaningless game, Pop would be crucified by ST. It's a lose/lose situation for the GOAT, tbh.

Wonder if we'll start the playoff on Saturday or Sunday. Sunday will be the big television day so they'll want top seeded teams I'm thinking. I wish it would start onSaturday though.

Timmy always played in his prime even till his early 30s.

He only started to accept sitting down games in his mod 30's.

Spursfans and their revisionist history.

It's tired schtick that's connected to Popvich legacy and coach of the year aspiration. If the spurs get bounced again in the second round with fatigue issues ala OKC and LA series. The spurs need to start evaluating how they appraoch rest and wethere or not they've fallen to the extremes.
