View Full Version : Amateur: If fatball is physically demanding why do they barely have off days?
On top of playing 200 games per season they play daily, 5 hour games for months at a time.
Athletes in real sports would literally die if they had to do that, tbh.

It is pretty demanding. I have never seen a sport that is as phyically demanding as baseball when it comes to jawline muscles. The amount of bubblegum chewed and turned into ballon balls in a five hour game is extraordinary.
Have you tried chewing a gum for 5 straight hours? That shit can turn your jaw numb..We're not even counting cracking sunflower seeds for five straight hours. Realisticly, if we add that.. .its by far the most phyisically demanding sport in the world.

Seriously though, you dont have to know about Baseball to figure out that this sport is based of burst. They're not always running because the game doesn't require you to run up and down a court or stadium all of the times. Baseball is about precision, time and quick reactions.

When they're not flopping or rolling around on the field in faux-agony, they're lightly jogging at best. And even then, they're so out-of-shape that a few minutes of jogging at a time is enough to make them puke their lungs out:

“Athletically and physically, basketball is harder,” said Jordan. “But mentally, this game is a lot harder. You have to deal with disappointment so often.”
- Michael Jordan
I don't take any of the soccer crew's criticism on baseball seriously, since none of them played a variety sports growing up at anything above a backyard level, but Jordan is right. Baseball is tenfold more difficult than basketball or football. I imagine it's harder than soccer too since we have documented evidence of actual fuckin' midgets destroying 12 year old youth soccer players. You will never see that happen in baseball.

Good possibility you guys miss out the WC. Colombia has a tough schedule ahead. One loss and a draw in the couple games and they might find themselves sitting 5th. Luckily, South American plays against the weakest confed in the playoffs..(new zealand)
We have a bunch of easy games except one with Brazil. Brazil owns us so that a sure loss
Still we should win
The rest of our games if we really deserve to be in the WC otherwise we dont deserve it tbh
