Shades of 2011, tbh. Let's hope Kawhi doesn't break his elbow on the last game of the season.

And the Spurs anti-tanked to play Memphis instead of OKC. So what?

How do you push it to OT and then tank it in the extra period? That doesn't make sense.

Would much rather play Memphis than OKC or LAC in the first round, but the Spurs' play against them this season leaves much to be desired.

:lol

The Grizz have zero chance. They should be able to have a few close or 8-10 games against San Antonio and maybe even win one but the reality is that they don't have much weapons. They can't exploit the bigs in the post because Aldridge is maybe a top 3 post up defender in the league and they can't kill them in pick and rolls because they don't have enough personel to consistenty put pressure on the spurs bigs.

In order for the Grizz to win even two games, Conley needs to have a superstar like Game for at least two games and most likely that wont be enough to even win games.

It's a bad matchup for the Grizz. Sure, they might have more 8-12 point games against the Spurs than say OKC..but they dont jave the personel to really threaten the spurs in a 7 game series.

Grizz and Spurs want to play each other. One has to be mistaken. We will see.

Just lol at people that think they stand a chance. Spurs in 4 or 5.

The series will go 1-1 to Memphis..At no point you felt like we were a far superior team judging by the seed and record o both teams..The last 3 relevant games felt more like a tussle in a 4th-5th seed matchup..

Still think the Spurs will win, but it is going to take something out of them.

Wouldn't be surprised if this series goes 6 or 7 games. Spurs need more than just Kawhi to show up.

Meanwhile the Rockets and Warriors will basically have a bye the first round, Spurs are gonna get beat up and injured their first round.

Eh, Houston will get beat up plenty by the Thunder; they play as physical as anyone. Difference is they should take care of the Thunder in 4-5 games and get rest while the Spurs might have to play 7 against Memphis.

I think Houston struggles with OKC more than Spurs against Grizz. Spurs will beat Grizz in 5. Thunder take Rockets to 6.

Not worried. A tough first round matchup can be a blessing as it forces the team to lock in early (2014 for example). Houston defense will seem nonexistant after going through the Grizz. Spurs beat Memphis in 6 or 7, then the Rockets in 5.

+1... It'll be like 2013, games might be close but shouldn't be a long series.

What's so much worse about playing OKC than Memphis in the first?

Bad memories, mostly. Losing 4 straight in 2012 and being out-hustled by them in 2016. Even the 2014 series was a slugfest, Spurs just got lucky to catch a throwback game by Manu and Tim in Game 6.

Obviously, OKC is weaker now that they no longer have KD...but Westbrook is playing at a nuclear level, Oladipo is capable of going off, and I don't want to see our frontline getting bullied by Adams, Gibson, and Kanter.

Although 2011 left a bad taste in all of our mouths, the Spurs have otherwise been 12-0 in the playoffs against Memphis since 2004. Personally, I'm fine with grit and grinding it through the first round against Memphis.

Westbrook is a statpadder who doesn't give a shit about winning games. It's pretty hard to argue his supporting cast is lesser than Harden's and yet Harden is going to take his team to around 55 wins. It'll be such a travesty if he gets MVP over Harden or Leonard.

I'd take Durant's 59 games over Westbrook's season too.

The reality is that not one team out West fears the Spurs. Kawhi will get double teamed and the rest of the team will be very easy to stop.
