Security forces had to drag a paying customer out of united airlines because they needed to the seats to accomodate their staff. In a sea of White People....A minority was "randomly" selected. One that was a doctor and had patients to take care off...

I feel bad for the three security personel though. They're going to take heat ona situation that was likely ordered by Racist officials. It is what it is.

Asian Doctor....

How is a minority then? I thought all Asians were doctors. Or doughnut makers. Or fingernail specialists. But those are women.

On one hand United should have done a better incentive voucher for someone to take. Increase it until someone is willing to give up seat.

On the other hand, the guy didn't need to scream and treat it like he was going to prison. The sensitive public is going to be in outrage about this of course, unfortunately.

Exactly perfect take. And why was he taken out of his seat anyway? Should have been first come, first serve. If he was already sitting down, then whoever had that seat next, should have waited.
But maybe he played it right. He'll get max value out of this.

And if they're over booked, can't they control the passenger flow at the gate? Made a mistake by waiting until they boarded all those passengers.

The flight wasn't overbooked. At the last moment, the airline wanted to four passengers to give up their seats for four airline employees.

Of course the airline could've handled the situation better, such as offering an incentive of up to the maximum allowable amount of $1,350. Or even find an alternative flight or means of transport for those employees. They instead stopped at $800 before invoking a dubious law to forcefully "re-accommodate" that passenger.

Through two PR blunders and subsequent plunging share prices in the aftermath, it's interesting to note that Oscar Munoz still refused to resign from his CEO post. Probably because he's afraid of finding himself on the wrong side of Trump's wall.

This obviously should've been handled differently, but how much could this guy really get out of United considering airlines have the right to remove anybody from their flights for any reason per their ticket agreements? The biggest problem is United's public image and drop in market value.

What gets me is how people seem to forget in todays world ya cant fart without somebody knowing about it. Camera's are everywhere, so just how stupid was that?

United handled the situation all wrong from the get go. You never ever get physical over something like that. You do your best to make an offer $$$$$ that can't be refused. But....if it is ya simply deal with who was replacing him.

I read the vouchers 800bucks+ u cant use it on one transaction cause theirs a limit on it like 50bucks max discount every time u purchase a ticket, with expiry 1 year...

now why would u accept this deal?...if it was 800bucks cash or more u take it

They really should be picked a black passenger. Think of all the cocaine and hookers your average black male could have bought with that kinda money. But instead it goes to an Asian Doctor who'll likely do something stupid like investing it. SMH
