Bobcats center/forward Melvin Ely sprained his ankle in pre-game warm-ups Wednesday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

It appeared as if Ely was heading out of the league before reviving his career last year in Charlotte. He could press Primoz Brezec for playing time, but he'll need to improve his 7.3 points per game and 4.1 rebounds to become fantasy relevant.
