We've been waiting for the "others" to step up all season but it just hasn't happened. I know it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor but this just feels like it won't end well.

Nope, but Spurs will lost against Houston.

It's definitely over beyond a doubt. Memphis has all the momentum and has the formula to beat the Spurs now. Leonard had to go straight God-Mode just to get it to overtime against a Memphis team which committed almost 25 turnovers.

When a low seeded team commits almost 25 turnovers, you blow them out. Not lose to them.

First 5 minutes of game will tell you whether this team has it in them or not. I knew they were toast against OKC when they came out flat and shook for G5 after surrendering an opportunity to take control of the series in Game 4 (remember Spurs had a double digit lead just before HT and wasted a 22-point performance from Parker that game :()..

I would put nothing past this team and Pop at this point. Everyone but KL/Parker is shitting the bed..

Obviously a lot of players aren't pulling their weight (coughManucough), but this seems kinda like a troll tweet.

They are playing a hyper defensive team in the Grizzlies. Even playing well, they probably would score less than they normally do in an 82-game sample going against 20 out of 30 teams who are cupcakes.

Playing good defensive team lowers the average ppg. Playing at a slow pace lowers the average. Both together lowers the average. Troll tweet for the vanilla mainstream media fans.

I actually barely watched the Spurs this year because the backcourt is so fucking old and woeful. I love manu and tony for their history but just fuck off already lmao

Pop's too obsessed with guys who 'know the Spurs way' - even if they're a shitcan shooter, passer, and so old and slow they can't open up any driving lanes, and teams just let them shoot up offbalance brick after fucking brick.

Please for the love of all that is good in the world, get a backcourt with someone who can drive the lane and create threats at the basket, and play AT LEAST average defense. That's the ring right there.

In 2015 old fuckers were still passable. 2016 was a charity year. 2017 better be the LAST year because at this rate they're literally just gonna stick around until the Spurs are so old that their combined sluggishness will form a black hole that feeds on the potential of teammates and freezes them out so completely that the escape velocity exceeds the talent of Michael Jordan to escape.

I liked the old Pop. Pop in the early 2000s did things the right way. If a player didn't perform in the playoffs twice in a row, or come into the season out of shape (Jaren Jackson), he would get rid of them. If a player was done, Pop would call them into the office and tell them they're done and then send them on their way (Horry). If a player wasn't cutting it, or fitting in on court, then Pop would tell them their game doesn't mesh with the other players, what they had to do to improve to be able to stay in the league, and then send them on their way (Monty Williams).

I used a few of the more well known examples of players above that people may remember. I loved the way he used to do stuff back in the day. He's completely changed now, though, and maybe not for the better.

Young Pop was willing to let Robinson go in 01' if Chris Webber decided to come to San Antonio. He also told Avery to move on to Denver in summer of 01'. As Pop has gotten older, he's gotten softer with his players and it seems there's less urgency by his, " We are who we are. If we lose we lose, life will go on." type of mindset.

Yes it's over.

Conley will keep getting easy lay ups.
Random scrubs I don't even want to look up will continue looking like stars.
Zbo will take everyone to suplex city.
MGasol will continue putting shots in the air for game winners.

Lee will continue letting people score or touch fouling for and-ones.
Patty forgot how to sweep and sway.
Aldridge's will is shot by Zbo.
Parker will continue vintage performing for nothing.
Manu will shoot -12 FG% somehow.

Parker still shoots better than most of the team, including Mills, Murray, Green, and obviously Manu. He's also the leader in assists still after all these years and now with Patty playing lots of minutes. And still one of the only guys that can create his own shot. How pathetic is it that not one other person on the team scored for the first 8 minutes of the second quarter and Parker kept us in that game. The only 3 people capable of doing something like that are Kawhi, LMA, and Parker.

Those are two great examples as well. That Pop was great. This one sucks ass. I use a lot of what he used to do back then, but now, I don't agree with much of what he does.

Do we need to start a campaign to tell Pop "We want some nasty!"

Age does change us. Tuesday will be very telling.

mavs 2014 (round 1). deja vu. and if GS was playing memphis i would not have been shocked if that was 2-2 either. memphis is a tough playoff out and that is why i was not happy about drawing them (not to mention the number of times these teams played towards the end of the season).

Hell no it's not over. Last two games they hit shots they usually miss we missed wide wide open shots we usually hit. It will all come back to normal and we win. As far round 2 every series is different and Houston-okc looks like a circus.
