As some of us noted in previous threads today and at the start of the year, Gasol & LA can't impose their will vs. anyone. They haven't all year from the post. If you initiate offense from the inside at their 43% clip in the interior, you will lose your ass vs. a team like the Rockets that manufactures wide open 3's better than anyone with absurd volume. 43% contested two's vs. wide open 38-40% 3's... hmmmm

The reality is, like the Rockets bigs, LA and Gasol rely on others to create their offense in order for them to be efficient. If you rely on them solely to create for themselves they are 43% options. Which is terrible. They CANT IMPOSE THEIR WILL.

As some of us noted in previous threads, this series will come down to who plays better on the wings outside of Kawhi/Harden ( since they cancel eachother out). Bev, Gordon, Ariza, Lou vs. Parker, Green, Manu and Mills. It wasn't close tonight. Not only are their wings better defensively ( Ariza = Green, Bev > TP/Mills combined, Gordon= Manu), but they can create better off hard close outs and set up teammates better than Manu, Green, Mills. They have edges everywhere.

Also, as some of us noted at the start of the year, what is the point of signing Gasol if he can't play vs. the best competition in the NBA. It's fucking pointless. Waste of resources last off-season.

As some of us noted last summer, Spurs should have started building around Kawhi, Green with more quality two way athletic wings/mobile bigs that can defend W's and HOU style of O. Not prolonging the process and taking a step back by utilizing resources to sign a 37 yr old plodding center who can't stay on the floor vs. the best teams.

The fact that it came down to SA and Phoenix should tell you all you need to know about LMA. The guy has always been a loser.

'Vs Lee"

That says it all. Imagine 4 years ago thinking that would ever be a question in your mind. David Lee.

Spurs have to sell tickets. That's why they bring in names, even useless names. They've always done that.

I expected LMA to eat alive Capela/Anderson...I've never been so wrong.

Anyway, THIS IS ON POP, too.

He wanted to stay big vs teams that plays a fast tempo teams...with LMA and...Pau Gasol.

It worked in the past because he had Tim Duncal to beat Suns' smallball....Pop didnt realize his strategy wasnt that good, he just had the best PF in the history.

Pop already knew that LMA and Gasol couldnt take advantage of their size in the whole season...But he didnt make any move at the tradeline.
