Defending their first title... uninspiring regular season, adversity and injuries, then playoffs come, sweep the entire conference... just dominate in the playoffs.

I think I already killed her :( she got diagnosed with type II diabetes officially a few weeks ago and now has to shoot insulin. She didn't have to when I met her, she was perfectly fine. I'm very upset by it.

Tyronn Lue trips over in Game 1 and Stephen Curry walks over him

I hope so. Anyone but the Warriors, tbh. I won't be getting my hopes up, though.

Except the '01 Lakers actually played some good opponents leading to the finals, unlike these Cavs.

Hell n:lol. They are doing damage in the East. What the 2001 Lakers did in the West is a bad comparison. I guarantee you Jim agrees with me :lol

2001 Lake Show is the best NBA team in at least the last two decades, IMO. 2017 Cavaliers aren't even the best Cavaliers team in the last three years. So no.

The first two teams were crap, or at least mediocre in the same way the Pacers/Craptors were.
The Spurs were injured and Duncan was still a young pussy, he didn't grow his nuts until the '02 offseason. Robinson was too old by then to be a team leader and his back hurt too much. And Fisher hit what... 90 percent from three?
If the Celtics and Cavs meet it's a pretty good comparison. IT just doesn't have the guts to beat a better team yet, even with HCA.

lol... certainly not... they're among the worst title team in the last 2 decades if you go by regular season records, tbh... they just peaked at the perfect time

the 2009 Cavaliers had a better regular-season record than the 2001 Lakers but they sure as hell weren't a better team. I get the Lakers screwed around for most of that season but when they were operating at peak efficiency they were damn near invincible. I put a lot more stock in how that team performed in the postseason against top competition than how they performed in the regular season. YMMV.

They really missed Fisher. Once he got back the last few games of the season that team became unbeatable.

So that will tie the 2001 Lakers all time record, right?
Special shout-out to Iverson for an epic game 1 despite having no NBA caliber offensive teammates.

The 2001 Lakers' "gauntlet" wasn't really more impressive than today's East, tbh.
Blazers - perennial chokers, all-time sports leaders in temper tantrums
Kings - a year away from being a contender, no stars (Webber was basically Aldridge)
Spurs - one man team, Robinson was done, all the role players were old as dirt
Sixers - one man offense, literally nobody else could score

You'd think the Lakers just won the championship instead of missing the playoffs for their 5th straight season.
