View Full Version : Put money on Houston in Game 2. Spurs 5.5 point favourites...

Will be stunned if the Spurs can push this series past 5 games, the offense has been awful for most of these playoffs and the Spurs were always a very very overrated defensive team. Even taking the plus points on Houston should net a nice return.

You're welcome fellas :toast

Historically, teams almost always win game 2 after a Hole game 1 loss. So this is a bad bet. Really thevsmart move is not to put money.

ButbI wouldb't put it past pop to prioritize his believe system and cultrual politics over winning. He's going to play two bigs together for 45 minutes of the 48.

I'm trying to think a scenario we win game 2.

i mean, harden will still penetrate at will and they will get open shots at will. Our shots will be contested fade aways form lamarsha or dumb forced plays by kawhi

Chances are Spurs will manage to squeak out a win in game 2 only to get demolished by 50 the next 3 games

Really? The series is over after a Game 1 blowout?

It is difficult to see the Spurs winning tbh. Not sure if I'll bet though.

We the bum shot 80% so that helps and was not something that was going to continue. Rockets could miss a lot more but their shots will always be better than ours.

In fairness, OKC had two top 5 players on their team and losing a road game isn't nearly as devastating as losing a home game.

Rockets are a damn good 3 point shooting team and while they may not hit 22 three's every night I'm sure they'll hit at least ten whereas the Spurs will mightily struggle to hit 10 threes. The Spurs made a 20th offensively ranked Grizzlies team look amazing, the Rockets were always going to have a field day.

I mean, that Thunder team led 3-1 on the Dubs. If we had Durant and Westbrook and two bigs who actually can dominate the paint we can come back. But we don't.

Betting on Houston is never a good idea. Spurs should have a bounce back game in Game 2.

Plus they had Ibaka who can hit shots unlike LMA.

Start dedmon he's much better defending the pick and roll. And yes stopping them is difficult but their defense is shit so we should get whatever we want. How many fucking layups did we miss last night not to mention open 3's and fts.

I think a lot of folks will be betting on Houston to beat that spread, but I think the Spurs win game 2 by seven or eight. Vegas will likely make a lot of money tomorrow night. That 5.5 will likely drop to 3.5 by game time.

Betting against your own team is a bitch move imo. The front office is doing everything they can do to assemble a championship team. They've been right 25% of the time over the past 20 years. Only one other team has had that kind of dominance and that team hasn't been considered a contender for the past 5 years. And ya'll are bitching bc we MIGHT not make it to the WCF this year in what is still considered a very successful season that we overachieved following a lot of players being replaced.

Imagine if they miss 10 of those 3's. Just 10. You take 10 of those 3's away thats 30 points.
Spurs shot 36%! And someone posted in another thread that Spurs had 45 open looks compared to 44 for the Rockets. So we just gotta hit them. That would've made a world of difference.

And the fact is, all year, Spurs have just been a bipolar team when it comes to their offense. Some nights their on and some nights their not. You just hope that the nights that they are off, that they can hold on defense. But obviously last night they were off on a night where the Rockets shot lights out from 3.

Not saying that will cure everything, but it will definitely give the Spurs the chance to win if they can hit at least 45% of their shots and not 36%.

If the Rockets shot 11-50 from downtown last night they still would have won. That's depressing.

Not surprised OP is going to bet against the Spurs. OP is the leader of the suicide squad. He has to insure his life with betting against the Spurs. If the Spurs lose OP will most likely commit suicide without his anti-depressant meds. In case the spurs lose this bet gives OP the money he needs to buy his anti-depressants and thus preventing himself from committing suicide.

TBH the Thunder were gifted Game 2 and Game 5 by the zebras, otherwise the Spurs would've faced GSW.

But yeah, your point still stands...

Game 5 yeah, especially for that bullshit continuation call on Westbrook's layup when the Spurs had been intentionally fouling him way before he even put the ball on the floor to attack the rim there. And while the no-call on Manu getting elbowed on the inbound play is one of the worst I have ever seen, I'll take a steal with the Thunder defense in chaos over an offensive foul and Spurs ball side out of bounds so OKC can set up its defense if I didn't know Mills missed the shot. The Spurs got something they wanted more than what the foul call would have given them. Otherwise they could have just called timeout after the steal and gotten the ball side out of bounds just like they would have if the foul had been called. Obviously with hindsight I wish the foul was called since we know the Spurs failed to capitalize on that steal, but the refs didn't decide that game.
