Nah. It would take a year to come off the books. However, it would create an injury exception for a one-year contract in the MLE range. Might be enough to tempt Dedmon to stay while still having something left to grab a guard.

LMA and TP out and the lead swelled.
That had more to do with Pop's small lineups that he never wants to try and Lamarcus being out of the lineup than Tony tbh...
JSimms got hot, but he's unpredictable. However, he started getting shots as soon as Lamarcus got in foul trouble, Tony was still in the game and it was a tiny lineup with Tony and Patty him and Kawhi.

Tp`s injury is going to be interesting. The play itself looks so innocent. I would say ACL now. If it was Achilles he would have reacted differently. At first to me it looked like his foot did some odd shit.

Good game. Lets all be like andy duphraine and hang our collective hat on hope. It is the best of things. I hope tony is okay. If not, I hope this forced change creates an advantage if we can get by houston.
Spurs cant beat g.s. With a healthy parker imo. Doubt they can without him. But theres a slim chance that his absence could increase the spurs chances against the warriors.

As much as I've bagged him the past couple of years, that fucking gutted me seeing him carried off. I hope he is OK. He was playing magnificent. He was starting to look like the real TP in these playoffs. It looked like he was healthy for the first time in a long, long while, and he was very locked in and focused.
Gotta rally around this. Yet again I am seeing pussy posters fucking tossing it in. Don't be soft. Nothing is over.
Yep, bummer. Tony had saved his best basketball for the playoffs, and he was ballin'. We will see a lot more of Simmons and Murray. I hope that they can fill the void and we can use the loss of TP for motivation - especially the young guns.

I think it's about time to bring Green off the bench. And you guys can't say that Simmons' points were garbage time tonight. his play at the end of the 3rd started our momentum. He has a mixture of shooting and attacking the basket(more so the latter). Danny green just wants to shoot 3s and turn the ball over, but I did love seeing him go at Harden tonight. If Simmons was starting, that would take away Harden's legs a bit more cuz he wouldn't settle for the 3.

Now that Tony is injured is possible he starts. I am unsure if Pop is going to trust Murray... who knows at this point? Maybe he starts patty and just leaves JSimms off the bench.. to help manu. At this point without Tony I think shuffling things would not surprise me.

I just re-watched that play a few times. Tony came down on his right leg, and his left leg was hanging funny. He hurt it on the way up. So often when you see a guy go down like that and there's no contact, it's a ligament tear. Looking at where he was rubbing, maybe LCL.
I think the best case scenario is that they announce it as a severe sprain, but even those usually involve some tearing. I don't think Pop will put him back on the floor again any time soon. That's going by what you can see on TV, but that's what I think.

Thanks for sharing that. ... /sigh it sucks.
/double sigh
It's sad to see Spurs again not fully healthy in the postseason: last season Timmy busted his last remaining good knee... 2015, Tony and Tiago were injured. I don't even want to go further back than that.
I am also doubly sad Dijon had gotten that groin/hip injury about 6 weeks before the RS ended and he missed valuable playing time that he needed for moments of this nature.
I suppose Spurs were not going to get past GSW even with healthy TP (what other fans here are convinced of anyways), but I wanted to see that for myself. Now, it's just unfair. Maybe they can get by this matchup even without Tony if others step up more bc KAwhi was already doing so much ballhandling and creating but Tony was providing secondary offense that was necessary. The others are just less experienced... and at some point it may show. Then the GSW match ... /triple sigh.
Is it fair to expect they can still get past the Rockets/ I think they can...
