Giving Kawhi more confidence. Great teammate that ManuVP.

He can say and feel whatever he likes - to certain extent I understand his point - but the Parker injury is bad overall. Gasol and Aldridge aren't playing at the needed level, the team loses a playmaker and Parker was playing (for his current level) great basketball.

Hopefully, Kyle Anderson, Patty Mills, Jonathan Simmons and whomever else can pick up the slack.

He also said "this will be the first playoff game I've played without Parker, which will be strange and a little sad."

The Big 3 really love each other, despite what all the playerfans try to perpetrate.

smart teammate, tbh.... if he's going to coattail to another ring, he knows where his bread is buttered...

He will retire this summer.

Thankfully we have to tolerate the turnover machine 3 or 4 more games and then good riddance:nope

so far Kawhi is having an historically good PO run over those first 8 games tbh... PER of 37, peak Duncan 32, BPM of 14,5, Duncan high 11,6 with quite reasonable usage for this kind of star player at 30 and I'm not even talking about his shooting efficiency that is absolutely ridiculous... pushing a bit his usage is perflectly ok to say the least.

now and to put stuff in perspective, with that increased load, Kawhi will be put in Lebron James kind of situation at same age when he was still playing for Cavs... usage > 30% with meh supporting cast. In those circunstances Lebron and cavs lost in semis and conference finals. So basically we are asking Kawhi to do better than Lebron in a toughest conference with at least a better coach.

If we go through Houston we have a strong case of 25 y/o Kawhi > 25 y/o Lebron who is already top 10 all time tbh :wow

Kawhi is going to be dead tired more and more as the series goes on if we keep upping his usage. Especially if we also need him to guard Harden more often.

Desperately need other players to step up in Parker's absence or this series is over in 5.

People looking for controversy that doesn't exist.

Losing Parker is painful. Manu will need to step up. He's been mostly awful this post season, but even at 39, he can conjure enough magic to contribute. Spurs will need him to be the playmaker he was the last few years.

Not wishing injury on anyone tbh...
Really sad about this for Tony and not wishing Manu goes out the same way.. Rather, I am wishing he knows when it's time and makes the decision in his own terms (hopefully this summer).

Manu needs to play more under control going forward. No more crazy passes. He also needs to take less risks on defense. His offensive output doesn't make up for the lapses anymore.

Houston and Golden State will make the team pay dearly. He was burned repeatedly in game 1. It happened in Game 2 also. He left Gordon wide open on a 3 point make. He drifted toward the lane when someone was driving and they kicked it out to his man. DRIVES ME NUTS!

We might all be able to agree that it's a good thing... but not something I would expect a teammate say let alone it being Manu who says it.

Sort of related... I really hope Kawhi has the stamina to do this. No matter who comes in place in the SL Kawhi will have to carry more of a burden than he already does. Lets hope for an LMA breakout or Kawhi goes berserk even more than he already is

Why do we assume he can't play 40 mins at a high level thru the rest of the season?

Because we've seen him look absolutely gassed before. Very very few players in the league have the responsibility of being #1 option on offense and defense.
