Never seen anything like it.

With our two best players out, Manu, Green, Patty and Simmons played their guts out to overcome the inside jobs of Oldpovich and Lapussy. You had me on the brink tears guys. Thank you.

Thank God it's them that play and we SpursTalk types (always throwing in the towel) just type. :)

Those guys bailed them out big time -

Pau Gasoft was crap - he was supposed to set up a screen in the last regulation play and instead grabbed Capella's genitals

From a team perspective yes, but Duncan in game 7 of the 05 Finals was extremely gutsy.

I was saying the same. No Kawhi, no Parker, bad reffing, poor coaching, awful Gasol, anemic Aldridge, piss-poor defense ... and the Spurs still won?????!!!!!

Games 5 & 7 of 2005 finals
2014 wcf game 6

In neither of those games we were as overmatched and outplayed as in this one, tbh.

Just think about it: We won the game with a 5'10" dwarf, a 40 year old and 2 D-leaguers.

We won this shit on pure will, effort and mental fortitude.

Again, that win in Washington in 2014 was up there too. Spurs won in double OT with Parker and Leonard hurt, Duncan fouled out and Green and Manu coming off injuries. Obviously, the 2014 team was deeper, but those were longer odds than tonight, if you ask me.

Yeah, I never really remembered a moment looking at the talent and thinking wow the lineup we played at the end of the game can't compete with the other team. Houston's team is built to win in today's NBA. We took it from them tonight, definitely gutsy and we definitely willed that game out.

Yeah, game 5 in the 2005 Finals was gutsier, especially due to the higher stakes. Game 6 vs the Thunder in 2014 too.

TBH, D Antoni choke job. Playing only 7 players in a playoff game that went into overtime. They had no juice. We'll take it, though. Hopefully he sticks w 7 the rest of the series.

We had 5 future hall of famers on their prime on that game. Tonight we had 2 D-Leaguers, a 5 foot nothing guy, a grandpa, a 6'11" jumpshooting pussy and a senile man on the sidelines.

I feel you and I'm still in awe, but to me the gutsiest has to be Timmy bringing us back to the finals in '14 along with Manu's 3. Plus the second half of that game was played without Parker.

That was a hell of a game. One of my favorites ever. I probably watched it about 10 times and it was a close out game on the road. Will always remember Diaw for that game and Cojo. It's still probably a favorite over this one tonight I think. Lamarcus down the stretch was ugly to watch. Nothing like Tim.

Yeah when you put it like that, I agree. Comparing that 2005 team to this one, it's like comparing the varsity team with a special needs team. This game had L written all over it.

Anyone celebrating this win is delusional. Tonight was about a few guys showing 'character' & playing the best they could. It was ugly basketball by two teams, neither of which is good enough to win 1 game in the next round. This was about who SUCKED LESS.

Nah, they're encouraged. Going home for a W, then returning to SA where they have won one game and barely missed this one. Without Tony, and without a 100% Kawhi, a game 7 will be very hard for the Spurs to pull off.

Games 5 & 7 of 2005 finals
2014 wcf game 6
Also, game 1 against GS in 2013 semis when the Spurs were thoroughly outplayed for 3 quarters, down 12 with 3:14 to play in the 4th, won it on a 3 by Ginobili at the buzzer in double OT. But again, he said in his lifetime so that could still be true. The ineptitude down the stretch by both teams was mindboggling. This looked more like a Houston choke though the Spurs will gladly take it.

Yeah well, that's why I didn't say "best win of my lifetime". I said "gutsiest" becuase of all of what you said: it was ugly, it was shitty, we had no business winning it, and it got done by a few guys showing "character" and playing the best they could.

If I had told you, before the series, that game 5 would came down to OT and the Spurs would be running with Mills, Manu, Green, Simmons and a giant pussy, you would have thought "we're fucked".
