I'm not going to claim to be a historian of Gaiman's work, but I did read that last year and didn't find it explicit at all after the midpoint. Sorry if that's a spoiler to anyone.

never read the book but the show makes me interested. they show the scene you describe in the first episode. and they show her having sex with more men and women in the second episode.
