Everything after this is gravy. Bring on the flexing Donkey tbh

Make a great Echo & the Bunnymen song: Bring on the Flexing Donkey.

I think the Rockets quit about 20 minutes into game 6 (part way through second quarter). They thought they were going to cruise without Kawhi, Spurs hit them in the mouth and kept coming.

That, plus D'Antoni asking Harden to guard a big all quarter did him in.

Well you know through your conversations with me that I did expect this. I'm not a physic and I didn't know exactly how it would happen but I've been pretty consistent in my talking sense into posters about the quality of the team in SA.

2. Despite those flaws (TP to old, can't win in PO with LMA being so highly paid, guard play is terrible, coaching, etc...) SA kept winning. People just kept ignoring results.

We were both consistent. You were right. As far as people ignoring the wins piling up, I think you can thank 2011 for that. The memory was still fresh, and it was ugly.

I always said the spurs were probably the third best team. But I thought their PG and C weakness made them vulnerable in the playoffs. And I still think they are. The biggest things that changed were that Murray really improved throu the year, and Simmons went beast mode against Houston.

Even you have to admit that without Simmons stepping up the Spurs could (probably would) have lost that series. At the beginning g of the season I said he would be big. By the end I saw him going the wrong direction and not getting it done. I based my opinion on what I saw. I think you may be psychic after all. :toast

I mean sure, if Simmons doesn't step up and TP is out, I could see SA losing. But with how TP was playing, even though the defense improved without him, I think SA would have beaten HOU without Simmons stepping up if TP was still there. They throttled HOU in game 2 with TP after taking that big punch.

What??? So many people on here thought SA would lose in the first or second round. There was no such thing as on ST people saying SA was a WCF team on a consistent basis.

I wasn't talking about ST. Of course ST was shitting on the team as usual. :lol I meant the general population outside of ST. Most had the Spurs as the second best team in the West, hence the WCF ceiling.
