+900 underdogs:wow:wow

By far the worst odds they've had against anybody during the Pop era, tbh..

Probably the fact that the Spurs are very secretive about Kawhi's injury doesn't help.

If warriors dont win the ship this year, they're a complete failure. 5x worse than blowing a 3-1 lead to cleveland tbh

Spurs odds sound about right to me

Spurs were going to be underdogs in this series no matter what. With Parker and Leonard injured, those odds were only going to swing further in the Warriors' favor.

There must be a ton of money being dropped on the Spurs. The series price is at +650 now. Looks like the public is split for game 1. Let's see where it ends up by Sunday.

Warriors had a team that could beat the Spurs outright and then added one of the top players for nothing. They may be the best team ever, certainly of this era.

The reality is that even with a fully healthy roster the Spurs will struggle to push this series past 5 games. There is nothing wrong with that, the Warriors are an unfair godly team.

It's actually nice to have a series where every game is the Spurs playing with house money.

They got a shot. They will get one of the first two to take away homecourt advantage. Most likely game 2 imo

Yep. I think it will be a sweep but that doesn't mean I don't think each game will be competitive (IMO it will be similar to Indiana/Cleveland this year). I just can't see a scenario where San Antonio can finish off a fully healthy, motivated GS team in any game with the players that they have.

Not a knock on SA, but the laughably stacked team Golden State has doesn't compare to anything I've ever seen in the NBA.

:lol having two of the top three players along with two other all stars and other above average role players

tbh the Shaq/Kobe Lakers are the only other team I can think of that had two of the top three players in the league but they were surrounded by a bunch of scrubs (clutch scrubs though) while the Warriors have two additional all stars

Got money on the spurs. Just like the team, I'm playing with house money this offseason. The warriors and cavs just rolling through the first two rounds has made this the easiest offseason to win money on in recent memory.

At this pace, if we can get Aldridge and Gasol to go down and miss the series, and KL's ankle doesn't heal soon enough, and perhaps Simmons sprains his wrist, we could sweep them.

Gonna be epic when we take them out. :flag:

It's all hype and nothing more. The Spurs were prohibitive favorites against the Clippers and Thunder the last two seasons and lost both series. It means nothing unless your placing bets.

Spurs weren't favored against the Clips in 2015, I think. They were the higher seed and had homecourt.

If you were getting even money, sure it would be crazy to bet on the Spurs. But at +650 (with the Warriors at -1000) you're just betting that the Spurs have a greater than 12.8% chance to win the series. I think that's reasonable. Personally I think it's around 30%.

The Warriors might have 4 super stars on their starting 5, but in 2004 so did the Lakers and they didn't win squat. A team with no superstars beat their asses.

4 superstars still only get to play with one basketball. That is their weakness.

No, it's not. Terrible take.

DPG21920
05-14-2017, 01:14 PM
We've seen GS's only "weakness" and that is vs legit bigs that can score. Even that weakness has not stopped them from dominating though. But in the regular season, when GS was losing, there was pretty much one constant (other than terrible shooting once every blue moon): Big men dominating them inside.

Spurs have those big men just have to hope it's enough.

Rofl, revisionist history at its finest. That Lakers team was nowhere near the hype as the season progressed and were definitely not the slam dunk favorites to win the title, when the playoffs started, as the Warriors are.

And you're an idiot for acting like all four of these guys need the ball at all times. Green is perfect in his role as the dirty work guy and Thompson is much better as an off ball player who is the second/third banana. I agree with the other poster. Horrible take

hitmantb
05-14-2017, 02:05 PM
Lakers had past the prime stars.

Warrior has last three year's two MVP's, plus two other top 10-20 players in their primes. Only Cleveland with LeBron (still best player in the league, I don't care what anyone else say) and its own stacked roster has a real chance.

Pop has never won a series this stacked against this team, ESPN is 100% warriors. This would be Pop's single greatest accomplishment as a coach if he can pull this off.

Warriors in 5 is the most likely scenario outside of injuries.
