Great move by Pop. It is debatable at this stage whether you guys can climb out of an 0-2 hole vs the Dubs. Why risk further injury to your superstar by putting out there <100%?

Pretty much this I have said this for the whole entire week. Pachullia robbed the spurs of winning a title this year but there is no need to let him rob the spurs of competing for a title the next upcoming several seasons by risking Kawhi's future out there. Also its better not to give the Warriors any satisfaction that they beat a spurs team with Kawhi. This is a card the spurs will have to play up all year next year when they face the warriors.

That sucks, but agree that Leonard has way too much career ahead of him to push. Maybe if this was 1-1 he plays, but why risk it down two?
I'll be very interested to see how LMA reacts. I think he's playing for his future on the Spurs tonight and in game 4.

Well, this will be the third time Pop will be swept. Warriors will be added to the Suns and Lakers. Sucks to see Ginobili's last season end like this. Time to bump the off-season thread. But one thing is certain, we need more shooters and play-makers/creators on this team. With Kawhi injured, this team looks like a deer in the headlights on offense.

Here's what I believe their thinking is:
They asked themselves, what is more likely? We win this series with a hobbled Kawhi, or we win one game tonight without him? They decided the latter is more likely (I agree, considering we're already down 0-2). If the Spurs pull off a miracle and win tonight, that 2 extra days could really benefit Kawhi. Then we'd have a puncher's chance.
All that being said, 90% chance we're getting swept.

Golden State isn't Houston. The two situations aren't comparable at all.
The Spurs had a legit shot at beating them this year, and proved it in game one. You land that first haymaker and it can changes the entire series. You immediately put them on their heels and the pressure kicks in. And we've all seen how they react to pressure, especially the new kid Durant.
Like I've said before, the frustrating part about this is none of this matters. According to ESPN, etc, warriors Cavs was always going to happen from the moment Durant signed with GS. The second the horn sounds and this series is over, the real story of this series will be swept under the rug and everyone will immediately move on to the "dream matchup".

I honestly wish that he would play. I get not risking further injury and completely agree... however, next years team could be far worse than this one. Tony won't be playing but will still be eating (pun intended) his 15 mil contract. Gasol more than likely opts in eating another chuck of salary without producing. We might dump Aldridge this year but even if we don't he will still be the same inconstant player we've grown accustomed to. Manu will likely retire this season. Danny another year older at 30 I believe who seems to be unable to ever become what he was. Patty will probable offered some $$$. Simmons maybe the same. I don't see Spurs luring in Hayward or anyone significant. Lots of turnover and uncertainty for our future outside of Murray.
With all that said, who knows when the next time we get this close. On that hand I would like to see Pop and Kawhi agree on him playing... but if its more serious than what we know I guess this is the right option. Sucky day for a Spurs fan.
With all with all that said said, still cheering them on tonight and have some confidence we can pull out an upset. Gonna need EVERYONE to show up though if we want a chance.

I can't stand Pop. Just reading that quote from him: ''I spoke to Kawhi, we spoke to everybody, we all speak about it. In the end, I guess it's my decision. He's not thrilled he's not playing, but he's not ready.''
That's BS. Kawhi obviously wants to play and feels he can -- let him! Even his presence tonight would mean so much to our fans and players. The MRI revealed nothing structurally wrong, and it's been reported that Kawhi has been walking normally for days. Kawhi even brought a little life and hope back for this series back the other day when he said "we're 8 games away from our ultimate goal. That's just my mindset."
I mean, this is a player's league. Other players expected him to play too. Just listen to the Warriors:
“You definitely go in with the mindset that he’s gonna play,” Draymond Green told reporters. “Gonna prepare for him to play … no doubt in my mind that he will play.” - Draymond Green
Durant said he's "100 percent sure" Kawhi Leonard will play tomorrow. Preparing as such.
Pop is a dictator. There's no long-term injury concern with an ankle sprain -- it's not even a high-ankle sprain. Pop gets away with this shit because he rests players during the regular season if they even sneeze before a game. And the only reason we end up winning anyways is because 90% of the NBA is garbage. Well the Warriors aren't and you saw how ugly last game was without Kawhi. It doesn't matter how hard we play tonight now. It's over and I blame Pop.

He's not sure of his pain level? :lol Cum on already!!! I mean, this is a guy who sat out a regular season game because of a toothache. Maybe his pain threshold is a lot lower than we thought. If he's truly injured and can't play, I'd have more respect for the gray bearded ass hole and Kawhi if one of them came out and said the season is over rather than BS'ing the fans into thinking there's a chance when in actuality, there's none. Kawhi back on court doing some light training..:tu
Not quite a full month after his sprained left ankle knocked the Spurs (http://www.mysanantonio.com/search/?action=search&channel=sports%2Fspurs&inlineLink=1&searchindex=solr&query=%22Spurs%22) star from the Western Conference finals, Leonard has returned to physical activity. The rehabilitation process, under the guidance of the Spurs' medical staff, has been cautious by design. Leonard has not commenced what might be considered full basketball activity, which is not unusual for this point on the calendar.
"He's done some training, but I don't think anybody's pushing him to get back on the floor this time of year," Spurs general manager R.C. Buford (http://www.mysanantonio.com/search/?action=search&channel=sports%2Fspurs&inlineLink=1&searchindex=solr&query=%22R.C.+Buford%22) said Monday. To be fair, there was no reason for him to do anything strenuous while the NBA season was still going as recently as a week ago..I assume it's fully healed for about couple of weeks now and this is just an exit medical interview/checkup in team facility before Kawhi goes about his gym-ratting summer routines ..

To be fair back, you're not saying that he could have played any more in the playoffs on that ankle... right?
Only a couple of FT line dunks vs GSW but thats it.

No one gives a shit you pussy. :lmao
I do. I thought it was a combination of Pop being overly cautious and Kawhi holding himself out of game 2. After game 2 and the Spurs being down 0-2, I thought Kawhi might have been able to play and I assumed Pop held him out because he thought the series was over, thus throwing in the towel earlier than I wanted to. I guess the injury was worse than I thought.
What a piece of shit Zaza is.

To be fair, there was no reason for him to do anything strenuous while the NBA season was still going as recently as a week ago..I assume it's fully healed for about couple of weeks now and this is just an exit medical interview/checkup in team facility before Kawhi goes about his gym-ratting summer routines ..
You cant assume anything with ligament damage.

Even if he came back and played he still would have taken time off to get back to 100%.
