What a horrible piece of shit player tbh. :lol I see a thread on Patty, posts calling out Lee, but if there was one guy who played badly today it was Gasol. He was singlehandedly responsible for curry getting hot from 3 in the 3rd, not closing out on the shot as if curry would elect to drive over shooting an open 3 pointer.

Yes we win with kawhi, but if there's a Spur you bitch about, this is him.

He was by far the worst player on the court tonight, tbh..

IIRC, he used to dominate the Warriors during his time with the Bulls, sadly..

Patty is 5'11 and had a 6'7 Klay Thompson who is a very good defender on him all game. Patty isn't going to do shit this series.

Pau Gasol, on the other hand, is 7'0 tall and should be feasting on their lineups, but instead is softer than baby shit and just brought his worst performance of the year to the table. He was absolute trash. Blame him.

Dog shit player. Spurs should have not bothered with him. It's like signing Antonio McDyess. Just way too past his expiration date.

At least he contested at the rim

On the other hand you have Lavid Lee assisting Curry for an open 3

He did nothing well today. I know he's slow but it's always better to make curry put the ball on the floor than to give him space for 3. Gasol was the only guy that made this mistake multiple times

Spurs made a bet with Father Time and lost with this guy.
Very disappointed to see a lack of urgency in his play, although maybe that's just a projection on my part.
He didn't come through when we needed him.

Been saying it since last July, awful signing.

Just looked totally disengaged. It's one thing to have a bad game, it's another to look completely disinterested. He was dog shit on both ends all game. Even without Kawhi, if we get anything out of Gasol, we probably still win this game.

who gives a shit what he did 2 years ago? he does not set screens or rebound. there is no use for him in this type of series. play dedmon spurs need an energy big. lee is a good rebounder but I don't think he can out craft donkey teeth. you got to neutralize the donkey teeth

He did it like at least 3 times :lol singlehandedly giving curry confidence to shoot. You'd think an x number of year basketball vet would know better than armchair analysts like us

when you stop doing little things because you think you are too good, or too seasoned, you fucking lose. it's why purists love manu; he's got the right mix of fundamental with reckless abandon and emotion. pau is a tall, out of shape pussy.

This is the guy who bought his race car motor oil from Walmart and blew an engine mid race. He looked great on paper financially and wow.. he did so well in the time trials.

Talent wins. If KD wanted to sign in SA, we would have signed him. It's not like Spurs had talented bigs beating down their doors.

I agree both Pau and LMA looked gassed and I still can't for the life of me understand why Pop doesn't play Deadmon?

Because he's a punk ass and we need to be classy.

If his give a shit level doesn't go way up in game 2, they need to have a quick hook and split his minutes between Dedmon and Bertans. The former will at least compete and the latter provides the possibility of quick strike offense. No matter what, winning is out of the question obviously, but competing at the highest level never is. As an aside, hopefully it would piss him off enough to at least give strong consideration to opting out.

ok so we signed him, that doesn't mean he should play when his performance is shit

Pop apparently thought Gasol would use his height advantage to score. Ha!

Gasol stunk, but the real culprit in this loss besides the obvious injury of Leonard, would be the Spurs inability to respond to the Warrior's ball pressure.

no. the real culprit is ball movement.

He barely played in the second half, so it's kind of hard to blame the collapse on him tbh. Poop was an idiot and went small in the second half and look what happened tbh...

Most of his minutes where when curry got hot :lol the third quarter is always the most important when you are up that big

This is the worst part, he has us hostage.

He's still getting that money. Won't get it anywhere else with how shit he's been this playoffs.

Agreed. He had one memorable block in the first Q and then it went downhill from there.
I don't think he's had a single good game against GSW not even in the regular season...

He's been awful in the playoffs outside a couple of games vs Houston. His 3 point shot has been broken the entire postseason and he's been useless outside rebounding and contesting when near the rim..

Everyone forgets he's 36. For a big man that's old AF. He's no Timmy.

At least LMA is showing hustle. He dived for loose balls tonight which was a plus in my book. Meanwhile, Gasol continues to be a bitch tbh.

Pau was great against Houston, but he can't guard Curry's midrange game. Harden was either a three or a drive to the rim, and Pau could contest those. Give the dude a break though, stopping the Warriors is not something that's been done this year.

One of the points I made in the strategies thread was every time Draymond gets a rebound, crowd him immediately because he's going to push the ball.

In the third, there was a play we're, not only did Pau give up an easy rebound to him, his lazy ass let Green blow right past him without any resistance which lead to Draymond dribbling out and finding Zaza running the floor for an easy layup.

spursistan

Spurs should look to trade Pau before LMA if he doesn't opt out..At least Adridge will be playing in his "contract year", so one could presume he will get off his ass in the summer and lose few pounds..

Pop needs to intentionally piss this dude off and run him out of town. Seriously, he needs to opt out. He helped a little during the reg. season, but when it matters most, he's worthless. What does he even do, tbh? Play shitty defense and not score?
