2003 Mavs vs. Spurs Don Nelson benches Dirk over the prospect of playing him with a bum ankle because he had a long career left. He ain't coming back 100% and they warriors will probably just try and take him out again anyway. Losing to those assholes sucks but it ain't worth Kawhi's future.

That and also the narrative that Warriors never beat a healthy Spurs team. Win-win for the Spurs.

Dirk injured his knee. That's a whole different beast.

Spurs beat the Curry Warriors after Curry was out with ankle injury

These are minor sprains. If it was like a Grade 3 or something then sure. He'll be 100% for Game 3. If he tweaks it again though then probably throw in the towel.

They are gonna punt Game 2 for sure and rest him for 6 days....Gotta hope he is healthy enough to make push in two home games..This a sweep or Warriors in 5..

I bet you'll regret not going 100% once you are watching Durbeta and LeFlop battling for the finals and were sucking our thumbs

besides, ankles arent long term issues like knees

After seeing how these kind of injuries significantly shortened the careers of Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill I agree. If that ankle is that weak it's not worth playing him and risking it further. They may end up RG3ing Kawhi.

Game 3 is saturday. If they can give another good fight, maybe sneak a win, Kawhi could be back then and give a shot at these guys.

You can't compare broken ankles to a minor sprain, bro. :lol

It can't be that minor if he keeps tweaking it and he didn't come back to a very winnable game.

Looked like a combination of bad luck and dirty play. He's not tweaking it on his own, just unfortunately stepping/landing on others.

Minor injuries can take you out for a game or two imo.

TBH. I could definitely see zaza trying to fuck him again.

Fuck no. Fuck the future. Using your Mavs analogy, Dirk didn't win a damn thing for 8 more years. Most of us including me will be dead by then.

Got to win now.

I wonder if Zaza would have the audacity to do it again, tbh:lol

He probably will..wearing that Warriors jersey is like being a made man..

If Kawhi is back for game 3 and Iggy is in fact hurt, this could be significant

There's a part of me that kind of agrees with this. Don't even give them the satisfaction of beating the Spurs at 80%. Would love to see Pop troll the NBA and play all 3rd stringers the rest of the way out. If the NBA is going to get their ultimate matchup anyway, why give them tbe satisfaction of good ratings to go along with it?

If not him, Green might. They have multiple options tbh.

Need to get Dedmon and Lee out there and run him into some nasty picks.

On e Parker was hurt we knew we had no shot

Kawhi had to kill himself since game one

We were unlucky

Just time to enjoy the next 3 games and use this as learning experience for next year

I agree it's not worth jeopardizing Kawhi's future. I remember Grant Hill playing with ankle injuries in the '00 playoffs and never being the same again. Grant has been on record saying that had he not played during the playoffs that his ankle would have healed up and his prime would have been longer.

I've posted the same two days ago. I'm not a big fan of playing injured players, let alone a franchise player. There are many signs, indications it would only get worse as the series goes on...

Pops should rest him

Hes one of the softest stars in the league, hes always hurt

Whats the point of playing anyway? Its gonna be a sweep even if Autist plays lmao

Hopefully no permanent damage yet.

Chance for us to win the series with a healthy Leonard is thin to begin with, stop this now before he deals permanent damage to himself.

Remember Ibaka in 2014? Guy was never the same from there on.

Manu played great basketball, a honorable send-off.

Give Murray a lot of minutes please, he reminds me of 2002 Parker a lot, he needs the experience.

Get one more young piece to give Leonard his own Parker/Ginobili, and the future is bright.

We need to get Antetokounmpo asap.
