Early start on the road against the Lakers after a big win in the WCSF...

Spurs go up big only to concede the lead and lose the game...

Spurs get called for ticky-tack crap and the Lakers are allowed to get physical as hell.

Spurs go on to lose the series...

fast forward to 2017, I hope the Spurs can recollect themselves... put this behind them and put up a more complete fight.

Game 4 will also include a phantom no call on Danny Green trying to hit a game winning 3

Someone will "Tonya Harding" Pachulia's knees the next time he is in San Antonio...

Meh Kobe actually earned that comeback win in 08.

A lot of good that does now.

Not shades of '08. I can't recall Duncan getting hurt in game 1 of that series when the Spurs were up 20.

Manu goes for a layup gets hammered in the air... nothing...

NEXT play... Shaun Livingston bodies up Murray backs him up, turns around and flops... foul.

I got the same vibe as the thread title from OP.

I thought that already happened in 2013 game 6 finals?

Still think that was a foul on Fisher on Brent Barry's 3 or attempt at end of elimination game.

This.

Even if Zaza were suspended for life, Golden State would take that trade in an instant for no Kawhi.

Yep. Joey C refused to call it.

It was pretty similar, Manu being still Manu and playing injured that series.
I hope kawhi can come back healthy enough.

I get where your going and it's kind of similar only if Duncan had gotten hurt and left the game allowing the lakers to make the comeback. Like someone else said, the lakers earned that comeback without any help from the basketball gods.

Such a bummer, tbh..I really felt the Spurs were going to make it 6-7 game series. Kawhi was looking every bit like the best player on court..

Rapist earned that comeback. Meanwhile The Goldeb state Illegal screeners injrues the best player in the Western conference.

Lol I do not agree with this. I actually rewatched game 1 of that 2008 series a few days ago, and Lakers started to make a run when Bowen was taken off Kobe. Kobe got hot soon after and started playmaking like a mofo. Warriors just got lucky this game from our best player getting hurt, period. Spurs were shook after Kawhi went down.

Warriors 2nd half defense was the biggest difference. Of course, Kawhi would have helped scoring, probably not enough. LMA was shut down in 2nd half, and KL would have been doubled everytime.

That's exactly why they needed Kawhi out there to help break down the defense.

I remember when the Spurs were up by 20 against the Lakers in '08 that they had DJ Mbenga guard Duncan. Duncan took a fade away on Mbenga and then Mbenga stuck his foot underneath Duncan's ankle causing an injury. That injury allowed the Lakers to comeback and win the game.

Heh...when I saw the score at halftime, I thought of 2008 as well. Past is indeed prologue, it seems.
