Naw, they will draft Lonzo. They actually want the drama and to bring the spotlight back onto the Lakers. LA has been an after thought for years now. The spotlight whether good or bad is what they want. Get ready for some Keepin up with the Kardashians bullshit for the Lakers. :lmao

sons I've seen some tape of this kid and he'll be a good fit in LA (might take some time to fit in). He has excellent size for a PG and can switch with defensively up to SFs (very important in this PNR league), he has good lateral movement and excellent PG instincts and game control, and on a team without leadership and many mouths to feed this is both a good pick and a good fit. Lonzo also sounds mature and composed for his age tbh, that's very underrated, such prospects evolve their game better (regardless of sport). Lavar will also take care to keep him on the right track. Sure, that jump shot is ugly but it falls as it is, it has a quick release and they'll rework it during summer league/ summers.

Imo you are all falling into this score-first nig mentality and are forgetting that the Lakers can score, they're just playing nigball and a floor general who won't bitch and snitch will do wonders for us.

son you don't need to be a passive aggressive champ, if you'd bother to watch an entire game you'd see that he orchestrates a clean offense and makes the right plays without forcing the issue. He's a quality pick.
Also everybody (lebron, kwahi, peak howard, kobe, etc) gets beat/crossed/embarassed/dunked on .. it's a team game and players do multiple things at a time, it rarely is 1v1 and sometimes you get into a bad position, sometimes it's not your night, sometimes you're just unlucky. Also there is no hope to contain some of the fastest slashers without shadowing them with a good defensive big or trapping.

Just lol judging a player from a game, mericans always in a hurry :cry

Yeah, I've heard the same for dbust.. being tall doesn't make you a potentially good defender, having good wingspan does, and he doesn't have it.. He also has one of the ugliest shooting forms you'll ever see in a shooter, just like dbust, and again like dbust, he is an obvious locker room cancer.

sons lonzo ball has a fucking 7'0 wingspan on a pretty wide frame (he'll fill out quite a bit imo) with quick foot speed and is always composed (in game, outside game) in spite of his troll dad. Guarding SFs will be hard but for a switch or two his height and wingspan coupled with his good foot speed will be enough in 2-3 years.

Y'all niggas need to inform yourselves about something before discussing it, this pick is solid tbh.

Hypothetical situation: LaVar aside, who would you draft for the Spurs out of Fultz or Ball?

My personal bias against Ball is his big mouf daddy. His game is just flashy enough to make Magic take him over a player like Fox. If I ranked the 3 PGs: Fultz, Fox, Ball.

Fultz.

Real talk. If a PG in today's game isn't a threat for 25-30 every game, he'll probably be just an average PG. I don't think pass first PGs can work anymore (i.e. Rubio, Rondo, etc). He also needs to be deadly in the pick-and-roll and a consistent 3 point shooter (I don't care that his NCAA 3 point percentage was 41%. That jumper won't succeed in the NBA). Longo is arguably the worst in those areas out of the top PGs in the draft.

The case for Lakers taking Fox: http://www.lakersnation.com/the-case-for-the-lakers-drafting-deaaron-fox/2017/05/21/

I agree. It's more likely that Fox develops a jumper than it is that Ball would improve his on ball defense vs Curry, Dame, Westbrook, etc.

They did surprise us with taking DangeRuss over Oak. Maybe they surprise us again? We'll see.

Oh I'm not worried about his game. He has some holes (midrange game needs work, not a great defender, for examples), but he's pretty good and will improve. His biggest negative? LaVar. He could be a HUGE distraction for 10-15 years. We don't need that.

When they were still in the running to draft him here dad was going to be no problem. Oh, yeah, very progressive in how they were going to deal with daddy Ball. Should have heard them every day on that radio with their machinations on how to deal with this black fellow in a white town. Oh, they were going to bend over backwards & frontwards to accommodate him. Once they fell to 4th then they called dad everything but a black man. See, they couldn't very well take it out on the commissioner because Stern was no longer strapped to the whipping post and Silver is revered by this Media like the second coming. So, they took daddy Ball, strapped him to the whipping post and turned his ass into two Jap flags.

"I'm told even had we had the first pick we would not have drafted Ball. No way were we going to put up with the father's shenanigans."

"Yes, I heard that too, so it must be accurate. Oh, good for us. And you know what else?"

"What?"

There is just something about his court awareness / passing that can't be taught. He isn't super athletic, but his height and length will help compensate for the transition to the NBA

I see his talent, but I worry about him reaching his full potential when his obnoxious dad undermines Luke thru the media if things aren't going well and we're losing.

I am intrigued with possibly seeing 6'6" Ball (PG), 6'5" D'Bust (Combo Guard) and 6'9" BI (SF) grow together. That's a nice li'l core to build upon for the future.

LaVar gives me serious pause to the above possibilities. I'm not sure if Lonzo's talent is worth the inevitable headache that comes with his dad.
