I wanted to see him live and I'm pissed I never made it a point to go to one of his shows. His music has been a part of most of my life and this sucks. RIP.

Superunknown is in my top 10 albums.

And that really sucks. My favorite singers from the 90's were Staley, Cornell, and Weiland.
Not to mention Bradley Nowell and Shannon Hoon.

I remember the first time I heard AIC. It was during Headbanger's Ball and they played Man in the Box. I was hooked within the first minute.
But back to Cornell...another victim of the Illuminati

Fucking great album. Five legit classics. The Day I Tried to Live is my favorite song from the entire Seattle grunge movement.
Tough fight, but I think Cornell edges Layne Stayley as the best Seatlle front man, and almost all of them were great.
I thought the music died a bit with Weiland croaking, but this makes me want to get the spoon warmed up and time to take a box cutter to one of the extra resistance bands...

I remember listening to it and finding a new favorite several times. I initially would skip over The Day I Tried to Live and Fresh Tendrils but they became favorites.
Agree with you that Cornell is probably the best front man. But they were both perfect for the bands they were in. The Staley/Cantrell harmonies were kick ass as well.

Tough choice. I'd give Superunknown a slight edge but then again, Badmotorfinger has "Jesus Christ Pose" and "Drawing Flies."

Superunknown was my favorite in the 90's but I think Badmotorfinger has aged better. 2 undeniable classics though.
Never really cared for Audioslave.

Yeah, I was totally disappointed with Audioslave too. I was expecting a Rage sound with some good song writing and a better front man. Didn't happen, sadly. Unsure if I was more disappointed by Audioslave or Velvet Revolver, maybe Revolver considering it had Weiland and Slash and Duff McKagan.
Cornell definitely deserves recognition for having an extended career , and lots of success after burning his vocal chords out and having larynx surgery. Definitely a top front man of all time.

I didn't really follow his solo career but they played a ton of them on MTV yesterday.
Thought this one was pretty cool.

Surprised no one has made a Pretty Noose joke yet... I want to say "classy move", but unsure if it's actually that, or just ignorance or no one has seen it somewhere and stolen it like that one dood did with the Hernandez memes. Probably the latter.

Him and Chester were purportedly going to expose the Hollywood pedos. Do you think they just coincidentally killed themselves?
