Fucking Pop... he's doing this for his own confidence and for the team to look foward to next season.... he believes less than us

Pop will get blamed for this even though Leonard said himself he has a lot of input on the decision. Obviously the guy is hurting and said if he's going to second guess taking shots or has to take shots off one foot then he shouldn't be playing.

Because kawhi at 75% is better than Kawhi at 0%.

Preemptive strike by the Warriors to prevent any bad blood from spilling on the court.

Unfortunate. No one on sa has balls to mix it up

Makes no sense to play him if he's gimpy. If the Spurs win tonight, it'll all be worth it assuming KL can play gm 4.

It's better to rest Kawhi for the long run rather than playing him if he's still injured to an extent. We don't want him to further his injury.

If we do shit right in the offseason we'll be ready for that sixth championship.

Very true. Kawhi is going to be entering his prime in the next season. He's going to be scary-good (even though he's already top 3 in the league right now).

Well, on the bright side, if you planned on going out tonight, you won't have to worry about missing shit

Its stupid though, if this was the route then why did poop play him after the first tweak in game 1. I agree with the call tonight. He has to do it for psychological reasons as well as physical, but why wasbt kl removed in game 1 before the dirty play?

In addition to kl rest we get to see who will come to play after getting beat down and called out. Its the right move but questionable coaching in game 1

NBA will blame bad ratings on the Spurs and not Zaza

Totally agree. He should have never gone back in. But he may not have let on how bad the first tweak was as he wants to play and if you sit him at all it tightens up. Pop probably wanted to keep him in to keep lead above 20 till scheduled rest late in third and not have to play him in fourth. It backfired

I figured this would be the case. Kawhi needed at least one full week's rest to significantly lessen the chances of re-injuring the ankle. If the Spurs win Game 3, we could see Kawhi back in Game 4 or 5. If not, he's done for the year.

If they lose game 3, it's impossible to come back. Why play him in game 4, rewarding GS with another home game, literally millions of dollars? Fuck yo clowns.

I highly highly doubt we win game 3. They should just shut him off for the playoffs now.
I'm pissed b/c I honestly thought we could win this series, we match up and play them so well. Again the Warriors are the luckiest team by only facing 2 healthy teams in the playoffs and that was the Thunder/Cavs last year.

Man the NBA is so bad right now. Three years in a row of the same shit. Like why both? You win the conference in the East and get swept, lose by 50 or whatever. This series was going to be good, and the league needed it, but no. When LBJ retires who is the Golden child? GSW? Lonzo lavre lamelo whatever the f you call them all? This league needs a Kobe Bryant in the worst way.

We were a backdoor sweep in 2012 from 3 straight Spurs-Heat finals. I don't think anyone here would have minded.

Man the NBA is so bad right now.

NBA been BAD for many years, too many teams for the available talent, diluted players, coaches, GMs.

But the TV contracts keep getting obscenely huge.

With 10Ms of Americans cutting cable, will ESPN/TNT be able to keep paying $Bs to show NBA?

If Spurs lose game 3 tonight without Leonard, they should just sit him the rest of the playoffs. Down 0-3 to Warriors is a tough mountain to climb unless you have LeBron on your team. Now if the Spurs can win game 3 without Leonard that changes things.

Well they are going to have a really tough series vs the Cavs, assuming LeBron doesn't tear his ACL in game 3.

Indeed.
Per ESPN: (http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19424757/kawhi-leonard-san-antonio-spurs-ruled-game-3)

Since Leonard departed Game 1 with 7:54 left in the third quarter, the Warriors have outscored the Spurs 194-133. In Leonard's absence, the team has shot 37 percent from the field, including 8-of-30 from 3-point range, while the Warriors are connecting on 57 percent of their shots, including 24-of-54 from deep.

Game over, man, game over.
