Kori Ellis

As many of you know, Obi is about to have her baby. She's being induced on the 21st at 6:30am or so. When do you think she will give birth?

Place your bets.

Shelly

Obi, if you don't mind my asking, why are you being induced? I didn't realize you can schedule it ahead of time.

angel_luv

All right Obi! I need a new pair of V-Bookie shoes so please take my bet into serious consideration! = )

Maybe she's not being induced but that's what I infered from the other thread.

I don't mind.
honestly?
out of convience.... I seem to dilate and efface ahead of time too so it makes the window of spontaneous labor even bigger.
meanwhile my mom and my in laws both live almost 2hrs away, i have no car yet and no one who can watch our daughter on short notice.

so it just works out alot better to have a day planned and everyone's schedule set up ahead of time.

Cool--But what if you go into labor before the 21st? Kori needs to make that an option! :lol

Both of mine were born within one day of their due date!

I bet based solely on my own experience with inductions. My second daughter was born alot faster than the first.. So based on my own unscientific calculations, I picked 12-1..Good luck Obi, and make sure you get something before they give you the epidural...That way it doesn't hurt when they stick that huge needle in your back :) . I learned that one with the second baby, and corrected that shit with the third(and last)baby:lol .

ObiwanGinobili

but i was in a shit load of pain at the time. So I may take your advice seeign as I will not be allowing myslef to go that long again! :tu thanks

think of it as spinal novcaine.. they shut off all your pain receptors from mid-chest down.

it is the one medical advancement that deserves a nobel prize!!!!

A reallllly big one, but at the time you really don't care, as you want the pain to stop! But once you do get it, life is good:) . I swear I don't know how people did it before epidurals..My best friend had her daughter at home and tried to tell me it didn't hurt..Right i was there and heard her ass screaming and cussing her butt off :lol :lol :lol

Yes...I had one at 8cm and non-stop contractions. Kind of nerve-wrecking when you have to be absolutely still so the anesthesiologist doesn't paralyze you with the needle while having that feeling that your guts are being ripped out in the most painful way possible.

:lol :wow :lol

Personally, I think women should get full credit for laboring the whole nine months. :spin

Believe me...labor pains are so intense that you won't even notice the needle.

With my first, as soon as I walked in the door I asked for one. The nurse was all, "Honey, we have to check you in first!"

My second was faster too. With #1, I went into labor around 5am and had him at 12:38. He would have been born a little earlier, but he turned. Son #2, I went into labor at 7ish am and had him at 10:25 am!

All my sister's kids were 3 weeks early. With her 2nd, by the time she got to the hospital, she was crowning. Poor thing ended up having natural childbirth with all three, they were that fast.

The name should be a tool to help the child thru life. Don't use a generic name. It should be easy to remember, stand out in a crowd and make a teacher like them for better grades. Not to crazy but not common.

Kori,

Hello! wanted to let you know the "results" !
It appears that today is payday for thispego because Eloisa was born at 6:12 pm after 7 1/2 hrs of labor.

Obviously things did not go as planned! LOL!
I got to the hospitol right on time , only to find out that they didn't have any room for me !!! WHA? I had an
appointment ! So I ended up waiting behind 2 other women for 3 hours. Finally get in my room, they do the
paperwork, hook me up and leave................ an hour and a half later they realize the backup battery on my IV machine is dead and
I have not been getting any "start labor" meds. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

But once all that got straightened out, and we really got going ( at lunch time!! ) - things moved well and quickly.
Baby Eloisa weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 17 1/2 inches long. A shortie like the rest of the family!

Feel free to post this e-mail, I'll be on later in the week. I lost $2500 in vBucks!! But I don't mind.
