Assunming both are healthy who would you rather have start, Nazr or Rasho?

I''ll vote for Rasho because he already knows the Spurs system well.

Nazr probably needs more time until he adjusts into the system.

Nazr > on offense, but Lord knows we have enough of that this year. Rasho and his shot blocking would seem a better fit for this team right now, IMHO.

Oberto.

Same, but he needs to play better defense.

M'kay, seriously...

Nazr should start, but if Oberto can prove to be what everyone's making him to be, than Fabricio should be starting. Rasho or Nazr aren't meant to be scorers, and neither would Fabri, plus he has something neither Rasho or Nazr have ; great courtvision and great passing skills.

Marks.

10-15-2005, 01:47 AM
Ok, that was a joke -- but Marks should play Horry's role and minutes when Rob is scratched in back-to-backs or three-in-fours.

As for starting C? Difficult to say I care much right now.

No one standing out yet.

Rasho should clearly start. I see no valid arguments for either Oberto or Naz starting for this team. You may get "a few" more points out of Naz in the long haul but with Rasho you get points and excellent defense. Defense is what we're all about right?

What do you guys think Oberto's numbers would be as a starter playing 30mpg?

I could be interesting... we know how horrible Nesterovic is as a starter during the season, we most definately have to see Nazr in the same position.... to see how much the team will change..

My votes for Nazr for sure.. :tu

Nazr definitely. Rasho couldn't get it done the year before in the playoffs. For once Sense and I agree on something. Rasho doesn't take it hard to the hole and that is big.

what I want to know is where is Nazr in these past few preseason games, he is not in the box score on any of them.

Thanks I hope his wife is ok, my vote was for Nazr even thought some seem to think that Rasho is better on Dfence but Nazr's aggresion on the floor overall makes him a bigger asset as a starter.

I think Marks is on the block, with the minutes and shots he's getting.

wildbill2u

Marks.

I'm in Houston and listened to the Rockets radio play-by-play. Both of their announcers were in agreement that Marks outplayed Rasho by far. They didn't think Rasho COULD win his starting job back, although they said he was playing with uncharacteristic agressiveness.

May not mean much, but these outsiders thought Marks was better on at least this one night.

ChumpDumper
10-16-2005, 12:38 PM
Marks wouldn't last the season playing starter's minutes, unfortunately.

And he wasn't really head and shoulders above Rasho last night. Again, I'll say you can start anyone there at this point -- it won't make much difference.

Yes.
I was hoping he would, I just drafted him about an hour ago in one of my fantasy leagues.

I also drafted Finley and Manu.

Here's the team I just drafted, in no order:

Tracy McGrady
Manu Ginobili
Ray Allen
Mehmet Okur
Pau Gasol
Tayshaun Prince
Stephen Jackson
Jamaal Tinsley
Samuel Dalembert
Antoine Walker
Nazr Mohammed
Michael Finley
Jason Williams

smdanss

Marks!!

I agree to start Marks or Rasho for this season. Reason:

1. Marks has been playing pretty well in the preseason games.

2. Rasho showed he is still a good post defender.

3. If we really want to keep Nazr, we should not raise his market value before negotiating an affordable new contract.

How would you guy think?

I can't believe this poll is this close. Rasho isn't even close to being a starting center. Nazr actually proved a little of what he can become next year and thereafter.

Rasho started for us last season and the one prior to that. Why wouldn't he be close to being a starter this season? You might say the playoffs and all that, but if Rasho redeems himself he might start.

I think anyone who claims Marks can start for the Spurs without sarcasm should start analyzing another sport.

They were both in agreement that NASR should be the starter, but felt that Marks could move ahead of Rasho. Nothing was said about Oberto in the mix, probably because they haven't seen him.

Rasho man, showcase him to the rest of the league. Feed him the ball everytime, get him to average 10/10, then trade him to the Knicks for Channing Frye.

But Nazr got us through the playoffs. We might not have made it through the first round if it wasnt for Nazr. Rasho had been with the Spurs for two years, and Nazr comes in the middle of the season and shines in the playoffs. Nazr is better. Rasho is too soft to play the center position. I'll take Nazr anyday over Rasho.

Except that Rasho got hurt. Nazr played great, but it's not like Rasho hadn't been contributing or performing.
