The Spurs would have an open gym, and Tim would always be there, so when guys started coming back, he'd start running semi-practice.

Ahhh. Ok.
Last season I read KA and Cojo were in San Diego training with Kiwi. KA also trained for a few weeks in LA (the connection to LA from his UCLA is there and his agency has a group that meets and trains over the Summer.) From what I read Westbrook and K.Faried were there among others. These camps are not uncommon among players. But I think Spurs tend to be so low profile and low key that one doesn't normally hear about them. The Kiwi groups are low key. I just wondered if Timmy used to do that. I think I have read he met with Robinson back in the day to play and stuff like that.

Dijon is obviously different when it come to the media though.

I was hoping he'd get up with Kawhi this summer. Hopefully we can sign J-simmons cause I'd like to see him there too, along with k.Anderson. The hell, get Bertans ass there too. Whatever Kawhi's doing in the summer is working.

Yup. Players do get together in the off-season on their own with their friends, same agency players, and even players they admire. For example, last off-season I read Porzinguis and Nowitzki planned to train together bc Nowitzki offered to "mentor" Porzingus. It didn't end up happening bc of commitments to their national teams and their schedules didn't coincide, but these things are definitely by invitation. Kawhi was so private and reclusive that I think he trained by himself with his team of trainers, but last season I read he met with former teammate Cojo and Anderson for a few days in the summer. (Unsure if he trains with others, it just said the two if them). Murray getting this invitation is a big deal for him and I hope, Kiwi too that he's becoming that kind of leader like Tim. :tu

Good god you are overrating the Warriors. This 16-1 record was hardley impressive. The Spurs would have pushed them 6-7 games with a healthy Leonard. If the Cavs didn't choke away game 3, that series goes 6-7 games as well. If Utah wasn't so banged up, they would have stolen 1-2 games as well. The Warriors had a good year, but everything fell into place for them. The 2001 Lakers run was way more impressive.

The 2001 Lakers would have pounded them into paste, but the Warriors have no real competition in this league right now. I fully expect Pachulia to hurt Leonard again next year, so no go there.

Same was said about the Lakers after 2001. Spurs were rebuilding, Kings were unproven, the east was a mess. The Kings nearly did it that year. The Spurs completed the job the following season. Nothing stays the same forever. Law of averages.

What happened this season won't happen next year. Warriors won't just waltz to a repeat. Everything came too easy. Those seasons are literally guaranteed to not repeat themselves. They'll be dealt adversity next season in multiple shapes and forms. It's how law of averages works.

We've been waiting for the law of averages to kick in for them for well over three years now and it hasn't happened. At this point I wouldn't be shocked if they added Cousins or Davis to their roster as well to give themselves an All-Star starting five.

All great news! Thanks for posting.

I'm pleased that Murray recognizes that he needs work, and that he's willing to put in the gym hours. Also pleased that Kawhi is working with him. Comfort level between those two is huge. I'd love to see them clicking by the start of the season. This roster has the potential to have a lot of athleticism. Hopefully Pop will let the horses run.

as much as Rodman was never my cup of tea, remember him sitting on sideline with shoes off in SA, his type of psychological warfare would have crushed Draymond. Green falls for obvious traps, much less that 80's and 90's psychological games Rodman learned from the likes of Laimbeer and the rest of the Pistons.

Hope you're not serious. Davis isn't a FA for years so they'd have to trade salary for him. No way a deal gets done there. Cousins they'd have to clear cap space for. Unless Durant and Curry take severely under market deals, there's no way in hell to make it work.

Tbh, the most important shot for him to add is the three point shot. To be a good starting point guard in the NBA, it is almost vital to shoot the 3 at a high percentage.

He needs to have a better inside game. While being able to shoot is nice, he's at his best when attacking. Get really good at something before you put all your energy into something else

He shot 39.1 on 3s which is very good albeit at a low rate. More of a problem is his 43.1 overall FG% which is mostly due l think to his reliance on floaters. He has good touch on floaters but floaters are a low percentage shot, particularly the mid range floaters he uses rather than a conventional jump shot.

Actually in edit 43.1 isn't bad, good for a rookie, not elite but good.
