The out of bounds call at the end of the call in Game 4 of 87 Finals was bull shit. 85 NBA Finals, Stern changed the pivotal Game 5 to LA. Celts would have three-peated. They were the superior team.

shut your pie hole they lost 2 of 3 Finals and the one they got in 1984 Magic and Worthy gave away and without the McHale clothes line Lakers 3peat ...what a bunch of excuse making bitches around here. Stern rigged the 80s? but the Spurs wins in 99 02 05 07 and 14 are all legit?

The Celtics? All we have is video.

...like Coach Jones stickin' his nappy head out the locker room door (sittin' in Massachusetts dirt|||9 June 1985) to answer a very stoic, respectful and ashen faced CBS hump:::"I don't think the 2-3-2 is fair."

They got the C-list Wahlberg to do the intro narration. Are the Wahlbergs the only yokels that claim Southie? Like they couldn't find someone new? Oh, and re-using Cube as the counter from L.A. was tired too.

Southie is gentrified now, so it was either Marky Mark or some hipster in their mid-'20s, tbh.

you can blame a lot on Obama but the racial divide is not one ..this country was already racially fucked.
so crazy ...Obama says his son can be Trayvon i think a few weeks after his death ...
Conservatives says he is race baiting ...
BLM says he took to long, should do more ...call out crooked cops.
just shows no matter what he cannot win...
but now your boy Donald even when he does something right (rare) liberals spin it negatively.
the political divide is worse than our screwed up racial one ..

Absolutely. And all headed for the corner where Wilt & West & Kareem had taken up residence many moons before. Cept 1. Magic. Got 'em back to California, grabbed some jacks, some timbers and a score & more of shaking & quaking hands and started back down.

I enjoyed the documentary.

I do wish they would play game 6 of 1988 nba finals. It ended screwy. In the closing moments, the lakers missed, pistons rebounded and were already off in transition, but a late and bogus whistle comes, saving the day for the Lakers. I remember it involved rodman and kareem. I haven't seen that game since middle school, so I want to see it again, just to see if my memory of the closing events are correct or not.

Well, if you're speaking about 84 only then; the C's were saying that the Lakers had more athleticism. They were even arguably saying the Lakers were the better team, depending on who you ask. But I think that's a bit of an undersell. The C's didn't get homecourt advantage coming out of a tougher conference for nothing. I can see the perception that the Lakers were better; and they even arguably played better in the series; and that's why I think it's called "stolen". But this was not some Cinderella story. This would be like calling the 13 Heat Cinderella, tbh.

Dude, the 80's WC is the biggest cakewalk of all-time. The fact that the Lakers didn't make it in 81 and 86 shows that they failed more than than that they didn't make it in 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 87...... I might give them a small pass for 86 though because the Rockets were a near-championship level team. But no excuse for 81. And in 83 they got their asses swept by a better Sixers team. They were just lucky that they were the C's problem; just like they were lucky that in the mid to late 80's the Pistons were the C's problem. I'm sure you've heard this all before and just don't give a shit because you want to fantasize how good "Showtime" was. But you're living in full denial if you think the power structures of the conferences wasn't a defining feature of 80's basketball.

I think injuries affected the C's more throughout the 80's than the Lakers. 86 was the year that they were just so dominant that they were the undisputed best team in basketball. But the Lakers never had a year like that. NEVER. And even with all the bad breaks the C's had to get to only 3-3 through 86, they were still all set to be 'the team of the decade' with the arrival of Bias. Just take your breaks and be happy as hell about it. Yea, you got five rings; but they come with a healthy dose of perspective.
