I didn't take it as a dig to Kawhi, either.

But, there's arguments to be made for both Kawhi and Durant as to which player is better.

Which means, KL=KD - and I'd take Kawhi.

Kwahi is a more complete player, true end to end BB player. Durant is first a shooting specialist and then he brings everything else. Durant can be shot down by a defensive specialist who is long enough to keep up (hello Kwahi) but it's pretty difficult to stop Kwahi because of his overall game. Kwahi and Lebron share that trait of being omnipresent.

First 2-3 years of Kwahi in San Antonio he had pretty much everything except contributing with a lot of points. Now he's the complete package. Kwahi will own for the next 5-7 years - he's a freak of nature

I never understood why people bought his fake-humble routine early in his career and I don't understand the media defending him as much as they do considering how dismissive and miserable he is with them.

The main reason this comment is ignorant, isn't so much Leonard (because he's only entered their stratosphere in the past 1-2 seasons), as it is Curry, Westbrook and Harden. As in, past or present teammates, who are all clear cut top 8 players. We know their stature, particularly Curry's, limits their all around effect compared to James, Durant and Leonard, but that's irrelevant in this case. When you've played with players that good and are playing with a player that great, you think you'd have the decency to abstain from that type of talk publicly, out of respect for them more than anything.

No, I think that was meant as gesture in the heat of a battle to a defeated foe, who's obviously the best in the game.

Maybe I'm giving him the benefit of a doubt, maybe not. I do hope Kawhi takes it as a dig, the way Jordan used to.

Durant fit in perfectly with Curry Thompson and Green.

Leonard has only reached great status the last two seasons, and Aldridge is the only other 'great' player he's played with.

Not fair to compare Leonard against Durant yet. But I do like his trajectory and I think he's a good bet to not only beat Durant for 1st team in 2018 but a 50/50 for the league MVP.
If Paul signs I may have to amend that as he would not get as much credit for the 65+ wins San Antonio will get in 2018.

06-14-2017, 08:38 PM
I think the last 2 series the Warriors played showed the world who the best player in the NBA is. Leonard was tearing their asses up on his way to a 40 point game and locking KD down. Lebron, with better teammates and inferior defense, could never get his team in a position like that.

TB fucking H. The Spurs need to improve its main core as quickly as possible. Pau isn't gonna play better. LMA isn't gonna play better. They aren't Tim Duncan and they are NOT gonna improve their game over time as they get older. They're over the hill regarding their prime and everything that comes with it. Add to that, that HoTS isn't gonna play at the same level as these Playoffs coming from that injury plus the inactivity. If the Worriers maintain their main core (4 All-Stars SL) their 'Ship window is wide-open for the next 4-5 years.

Stop with the colonized mentality that the Spurs don't need to improve its core because 61 wins team and 23pt lead in one Playoffs game. True, Worriers are 1 or 2 injuries away to be a normal beatable team but there's no guarantee of any of that with these mfucking lucky sobs.

A great thing about KL is that he's a great matchup for 2 of 3 of the best players of this era. If KD and Lebron will continue playing with stacked up teams to win every year, I hope the Spurs can match that. Maybe he can go to war with them every year and dispose of them. Media would be force to make him and his greatness a bigger deal history wise. It would be great for Spurs fans all around the world :lol

Spurs need to put better players around Kawhi and try to knock these fuckers out instead of wasting what will now be Kawhi's PRIME years. No more one-dimensional players (Mills, Green), old men (Manu, TP), pussies (Gasol, LMA), and non-athletic players with no upside (Forbes, Fathead)....

...Annnnd watch the Spurs sign Patty and Manu to loyalty contracts, keep Green and Gasoft, and trot out Fathead for another year like he's a worthy piece on a contender, wasting a year of Kawhi's prime.

Those are the type of guys Poop can control.

He has a genuine aversion to tough, enforcer-type big men. So it's no surprise that other teams feel emboldened to play dirty against the Spurs while Poop looks away at newly discovered planets.

If you had Wilson as your QB, then that's good. Get the defense off the field fast with a TD and force Wilson to throw back into it.

His dislike of Kawhi reminds me of how Shaq hated Duncan during the late 90's and early '00s. I remember even reading in Shaq's book in '00 about how angry he was when Tim won in '99 and that Tim didn't deserve to win a championship before him since he was younger. Another excerpt Shaq wrote in his book was that he didn't think Tim was that great of a player and was fortunate to play with David Robinson. Shaq claimed in the book that if he played with Drob that he would also be winning a ton of games easily. Shaq also said in the book that Tim was a Brad Daugherty clone which was an insult.

Later on we learned that Shaq's hatred for Duncan was due to jealousy and fear. I feel that this is also the case with Durant when it comes to Kawhi. I'm willing to bet that Kawhi is the guy that Durant would hate to lose to the most out of all of the players in the league. Hopefully we get to see it happen again like it did in '14. It would be fun to watch Kevin melting down and having to deal with the media bring up the system player comments that he made about Kawhi.

"Kawhi defended Durant on 24 plays, KD attempted 5 shots and scored 4 pts. Once Leonard left the game, Durant scored 20 pts in 15 minutes."

It still hurts reading these stats. Durant is a fugly braindead moron who truly dodged a bullet when Kawhi went down.
