I live in Charlotte so I follow the Hornets a lot. The way the Hornets are currently constructed they were not going anywhere. Even with this trade they are still not going anywhere from being a typical 40-47 win team, but at least with Dwight they will be more entertaining from a comedy perspective. I might actually go to a few games this year.

Agreed. Hornets didn't really give up much for him. Plumlee is garbage and Belli can be replaced. Charlotte is a great place for guys to rebuild their careers. This will be the first time in a longtime that Dwight will play with low expectations.

If you're a contender or close, there's no way you can trade for the NBA-equivalent of Terrell Owens in his twilight years. Even for the Clippers/Cavs, the upgrade is very marginal and not worth the headache

Joke about him all you want but in his prime, he was easily a top 3 player in the league and prolly top 3 defensive of all time. It was predictable that his game wouldn't age well.
