Ian never thought himself tjhat he would get drafted this yer.. and when he did he new he'd be staying in france. So it doesn;t suck from his point of view.
the worst thing they could do for him is bring him over now.. he;s young, undeveloped, inexperianced...... the failure rate would be astronomical.

Better for him to continue to devlop and train where he;s at. not to mention in his home country.. that gotta be more comfortable.

we drafted Manu in 99.. but didn't bring him over right away.
and we still hold Scola's rights.
it;s not unheard of.

Yes, Foul Trouble on both games.
He play well tonight (it's 10 pm in France) and put 15 pts (7/10) and 6 rebounds in 24 min.

That's pretty decent numbers if you ask me. He can be a great draft pick especially since people are comparing him to Amare (on his athletism).

Yeah...there are some classics. I think this one makes me laugh the most though.

"They better not put me in the All-Star Game. I won't shoot, but I'll dominate that easy game. I'll be playing hard defense. I'll be foulin'. I'll be flagrant fouling. Everyone will be like, 'What are you doing?'"

- Ron Artest.

Its just so easy to visualize that. Everyone else goofing off having fun...and Artest playing hard core defense to the point of being dirty. I always liked him. Too bad he is such a headcase. :lol

Was this a French article?? you know...Google is not very good at translating French to English.....don't mean to sound rude.......just seems out there.

The only people I've seen comparing him to Amare are people in this forum who've never seen him play. I don't think it was ever in an article in any language.

Don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic to see him 1/4 of Amare's talent

So would I, but I think it's extremely premature to even utter such an idea. He's incredibly raw. Who knows if he'll ever even make it to the NBA.

That's an easy question to answer. People dont know how to pronounce his name, and if he told them to pronounce it that way then we better dump him because who wants someone who cant pronounce his own name trying to play bball?

I think unless he is a bust in Europe to the point of making the Spurs amenable to renouncing him if he forces the issue, he'll make it TO the NBA with his guaranteed first round contract offer. Whether he'll make it IN the NBA is unknown, of course.

Game 4 - 22 minutes; 12 points on 5-7 FG and 2-2 FT; 5 rebounds; 1 steal; 1 TO; 3 fouls.

Surprisingly to me, so far Mahinmi isn't putting up much in the way of blocked shots

Ian average 0.6 bpg last season. He hasn't put one if four games this season (not enough to conclude).

In france you have less block that in nba. 8 players average more than 1bpg last season in proA, 50 in nba (you have 18 teams in ProA and 30 in nba).
(more outside shoot and foultrouble in europe)

Even if i have not seen the games, I assume that he tries less to block shoot this season to stay away from foul trouble (he is a starter this season and must play more minutes)
