View Full Version : Will Kawhi play with another All-star before his 2019 Free agency?

Will PATFO finally bring him help (a big fish not some old fuck has been) ? Will Murray break out? Will Aldridge get his shit together in a contract year?
I'm inclined to say No..
And as result, I think The Spurs are going to sweat the Kawhi free agency out in an unexpected way. They will be armed with the Supermax and a distant past glory but not the future for him..

As stacked as the West is now - unless we experience a miracle, the answer is sadly no.

Spurs desperately need a mini-leap from Murray next season..

Very confident in saying he will be a spur his entire career. He just fits in perfectly here.. Personality and his game. Going nowhere. It's amazing that we went from Tim Duncan to him. Because they are similar in so many ways. Totally unimpressed with all the bullshit of fame and fortune.

They need Westbrook.

I can see him jumping for one of the LA teams depending how the rest of those rosters shake out in the meantime. If the Spurs' roster continues to go into the toilet, I wouldn't blame him, tbh.

Not happening. He is like Tim. He is not about all of that hype. Shaq basically left Orlando, because he had an agent in his ear telling him he needed to go to Los Angeles and pursue his acting career. An agent in Leonard's ear talking to him about a big market, is not going to faze him. I don't see it.

Kawhi won't be a FA in 2019.

What a sad state for this team and what a fucking waste of the best two way player in the NBA.

KL will almost certainly decline his option in two years and be a free agent in June/July 2019.

No. Kawhi will sign his supermax deal next summer and it'll kick in in 2019.

Ah, yes. The Designated Player Extension. You're right that that is a likely scenario.
Yes. If he agrees to practice with the Olympic Team.

So many drama queens in this forum worried about "wasting kawhi's prime". For two decades this franchise has rarely sold out for the short run and that's why we have won over 50 games for so long. Is there truly a realistic move that would put us over the warriors? Outside of Duncan the Spurs have found three future hall of fame players from non lottery picks. That's really the only way to do it as a small market.
rather than panic, I would like to see the two rookies, Dj, and Bertans get serious minutes then reassess next summer. Maybe use one or two of them to trade up.
