Who cares? A guy who could D, but generally fouled instead and had no idea what to do on offense to make a play go without difficulty.

Seriously, fuck ya'll simpletons who can't get that shit.

Foul machine. FOUL MACHINE. A FOUL MACHINE WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO ON O.

Dex
07-11-2017, 08:51 PM
Also, Dedmon was overrated. No offense other than darting for lobs, and he wasn't even that strong of a roller.

He had his chance in the starting lineup and regressed, and became pretty much unplayable. Do not want, especially for that price tag.

He was goner as soon as he opted out..Don't think even SA had plans to retain him..he even mentioned it was "about the money", and i don't think he got IT here, hence the player option for year 2..It didn't make sense to comeback to Pop's doghouse if he was going to give it another shot in 2018 FA..

Mr. Body

Good to see, tbh, he earned a nice raise..he'll get a good amount of minutes on a Hawks team that will be near the bottom of the East and won't have to compete with old players that the coach can't resist playing..

His absence won't affect the Spurs, though..he wasn't even playing anymore by the end of the season..

He was an odd fit from the get-to. Never a Spurs-type player. It was nice finally having a big who could catch lobs tbh, but that was all he was good for. He regressed as the season went on and Pop had seen enough. He was done after that. Glad he got a nice payday though. He's a good dude from everything I've seen.

He was really good for a stretch during the season after Gasol got hurt. Then he lost his rhythm.

Sucks that it didn't work out. His defense was pretty good when he would not foul, which was improving.

You are not going to be very good in league, if you can't knock down a ten foot jumper occasionally. Unless you are skilled around the basket, which he is not.

I am going to miss your's and Lee's antics on the sideline, but go get your money in the ATL!

duncan2k5
07-12-2017, 05:17 AM
Big loss...the defense was much better with him, despite the fouls...the stretch when he was starting was our best basketball...and he singlehandedly linked mark gasol who was DOMINATING us up to that point...I dont blame him for leaving... Pop had a clear bias when he wouldn't get on gasoline for his MANY....MAAAAANY defensive lapses, but would bench dedmon got several games if he made one

I'll pass on seeing Shitter become unplayable in the playoffs. He was only useful against ZBo, Dirk, and LMA. 2 of those are on lottery teams and the other would be his teammate. No thanks.

That block Lebron had on him literally ended his manhood. He got benched in 2014 when it got tough, and then let Griffin average a triple double on him. He's probably worn more than 100 suits during game days since he left us.

Again. Pass.

Would have little to do with it as far as cap goes. As far as the tax goes, if Simmons comes back, they have to stretch Pau's deal over multiple years. If Simmons goes elsewhere, they can give him his one-year back.

With the non-Bird exception.

It's for up to 120% of his previous salary and can be up to 4 years , but hopefully it'll be for only one year fully guaranteed.

Should be the Early Bird exception, Simmons has been on the team for two seasons already. So the starting salary can be around MLE money.

the Spurs never wanted to retain him - Pop had the opportunity to play him way more when the roster got decimated by injuries deep in the playoffs and "refused" (in my view) to give him more time. Done deal.

Probably just haven't updated it yet. It doesn't affect the Spurs' signings because they're operating above the cap, but it could give a false impression that the Spurs have less room under the tax than they actually do.

I'm almost positive that Dedmon's cap figure was originally labeled as a cap hold prior to his signing with Atlanta so that's why I was confused. It may just be a mistake I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

It says that he was signed with cap space which shouldn't be possible for the Spurs. With non Bird rights they also can't sign him to a salary that high.
