View Full Version : Make or break for Fathead on the Spurs?

If he sucks after 3 years in a row of scrubbing it up, the Spurs might have to drop this guy already.

I remember winning a chip and we draft this dude. One of the worst drafts ever. I hope he is happy with whichever team he ends up in. :tu

I agree that this is make or break. However, I see him playing a lot more 4 this year where he has been more effective.

He is already broken, imo

If we keep LMA and Pau, we have Gay to play the 3 or 4. Exactly fathead's role. I see his minutes reduced. And I hope blossomgame takes over the backup 3 role.

He'd be pretty good if he wasn't so darn indecisive and tentative... he can't be passing up wide-open (system created) looks.

A huge part of this game is mental, and he is already lacking in ability, is short on skill, not physically imposing...and combine that with his lack of aggressiveness, it means failure...imagine this dude going against draymond when it counts...it is much easier to hone in youthful exuberance (Murray for example), than teach a kitten to be a lion...matter of fact, it is easier to teach a lion to be a kitten, than a kitten to be a lion...it just isn't in fathead's nature to be aggressive and ride with the big boys

Matty BonBon 10 years with the Spurs.

If Anderson is on CIA Pops Pet List he will stay.

Fathead got zero 3 point range. I'd rather watch bonner bricks than passed up wide open threes.

At this point, I think Anderson has shown his ceiling. I don't expect any "break out" year from him. He is a serviceable 12th man, and that is about it.

That being said, the Spurs will retain him if the price is right. He is a good value now at $2.1M. If someone comes along and throws money at him after this season, he gone.

SAGirl and Chinook got their wish. Simmons will no longer take minutes away from this scrub. No excuses now with so many scrubs on the team :lol

Already got the first poster on record saying she wouldn't pay a role player. We'll see how she feels when this cancer is a free agent.

He better treat the NBA competition like he did those scrubs in the pickup ball at the Park.

Kinda my thoughts as well. He can fill in nicely at times, but I think we have seen him at his best, unless he starts knocking down the 3 consistently.

Although not at the rate we hoped for, he has shown some improvements. Doesn't really hurt to have him for situational games. With all the shooters in the second unit, he might actually be poised to fill a distributor role.

If someone throws a 3M/yr offer to him, its smart to walk away....

No. He has great metrics. Even if he doesn't make it with the Spurs, he'll find a new home.

Completely agree. This team from the Big3 league is just asking for a Kyle Anderson signing, especially after Jason Williams suffered a season ending injury.

What a shit thread. Anderson is a solid rotation player and would easily find another team even if he were cut this second.

He is OK as the 8th - 10th man on a team. But SAgirl has half this board thinking he should be the 6th man or starting PF.

I also understand why Charles Barkley hates "metrics" and advanced stats. Its clear that fathead sucks, yet people try to keep saying... but his per 36. Don't cant get on the court for 10 minutes a game, much less 36.

You can spin stats however you want. Per 36 is stupid.

If he sucks this season, we should just send him to the Austin Spurs for the remainder of his career, where he is dominant, tbh.
