My guess is that they work the same as regular contracts with the restriction that a player on a two-way can only play a certain number of games with the mothership. But it's a good question for Chinook.

Two-way deals aren't guaranteed for the whole season. The NBA half is supposedly at the discretion of the teams. Guys aren't entitled to any more NBA-level salary than what they actually earn. That being said, I'm not sure about how they'd go about filling those roster spots if a guy gets cut/promoted.

Two-way deals do not affect the cap, and I don't think they affect the tax. You're right they could cut him, but I think they aren't anticipating it. Two-way deals are developmental contract, not trial deals.

Looks good to me. The ability to rebound is valuable and they don't have enough big projects that feature that. Milutinov appears to be a good offensive rebounder but not so great on defensive boards, and it's always good to get some competition and not be tied up to a single prospect.

Well he had a very good year and he had a player option. It was his choice to not come back. He opted out to seek more or for whatever reason. Him being injured and everything when he opted out, he took a lot of risk doing that. It had to be voluntary. I think the Spurs moving to play a different style would have limited his playing time, it was something that couldn't be guaranteed any longer IMO.

Considering that, I think if he was going to get a vet min salary or similar (maybe a little bit more from a young team needing veterans for example), he might want at least his playing time somewhat assured.
