so i just bought a 4tb hdd, didn't recognize when I install it...I have a few questions
if I'm using the 4tb as a windows bootup drive, then I need to format and partition it as gpt?
if its just a data drive with only 1 partition the whole 4tb, then it can be MBR+ntfs? no need to turn it into gpt right?

GPT should work well in Win10... Also you probably want to use NTFS...
If you don't want to format, MBR should also work

so when i installed it, i just needed to initialise it to have it appeared
then i format it, didn't create any partition, it went to straight gpt + ntfs ... i knew if i leave it like this and start transferring data i will lose everything cause theres no partition allocated space
so i format it again, create the 1 partition on the drive as a whole 4tb... when i create the partition it ask if i wanted mbr+NTFS, didn't select it cause mbr is more useful for hdd below 2tb... so i selected gpt+ntfs...then started transferring data..
hopefully everything is all good, seems like either sata cable is dead or psu is starting to die, some of my other hdd disappeared in mypc when i started to transfer data to the 4tb....
