I talked to someone who used to work in weapons development and he said we already have these in space. Plus we have a weapons that can take out the sun.

For now we do. I heard rebel forces recently acquired the schematics to that weapon and discovered a major vulnerability.

I'm assuming guided but it wouldn't be hard to shoot the sun out with a non-guided projectile.
