But after hearing about the Harlem story a few weeks ago, which is just borderline sociopathic, and now Orton's meltdown over a betrayal of a real life friend who told all his secrets to strangers from this board for props, I just NEED to hear MORE stories about this place and the abhorrent shit people have done like this.

I can't fathom 100k posts or buying a rip-off .net domain to keep the party going for respect- that's sad, but not deranged or fucking weird where you need to re-evaluate your real life- but the Harlem story and this Orton thing is some kind of special pathetic.

I'm at a bus depot in Bakersfield waiting to change buses for San Diego. Boarding that bus I see.....Kenny Ridge..(buddy in Visalia).....at a car lot across the street, if ya knew Kenny you'd know there is no mistaking him for somebody else.

Well, I had no time to get off the bus so.......

A couple days later I get a letter in the mail (Navy days).....Kenny Ridge was dead, he got killed in a car wreck in Corcoran.

tbh this place used to be the big leagues of trolling between 2006-2011ish. Pretty much right after the Mavs beat the Spurs in 06 (bringing in the Mav trolls) to when the Lakers got swept by Dallas in 2011 (a lot of the Laker fans who were real characters quit or posted very rarely after that). Also around that time is when they stopped granting people new accounts which also killed the place. During those times this place was great and atleast once a month it seemed as if somebody had beef with someone else IRL, and Kori had to threaten everybody to "knock it off" or else she would permaban tons of people :lmao

Atleast half of the sketchy stuff that has gone on here I still don't even know the details of. I doubt there's any other forum out there where posters have actually had legitimate personal beef with other posters and have gone out of their way to make personal threats to where police have been involved, outside identities have been mistaken for somebody here, etc

IMO, mavs>spurs was the GOAT troll since it seemed like he was in the middle of all these fiascos when personal information was involved. Well, shit, where to start.

ST got its start because the other forum for Spurs was a bunch of whiney shits, who sucked up to the mods, and the mods acted like jackasses. Either you were "in" or you were banned.

Way too clique-ish for a lot of people.

I came on when the Spurs were on a run, and my wife was a huge fan, and dragged me along. I never knew/know much about sports so it was good to read the detailed analysis (after sifting through the fanboy homer BS). I read, but very rarely post in the basketball forum.

I have had years-long arguments over all sorts of conspiracy theories, and spent a lot of time shooting the shit out of the 9-11 "truth" movement, as well as creationists, who seem to argue in very similarly dishonest ways.

There have been various physical meet-ups, and I went to ONE, before it began its long slide.

I would say that more than 1/2 the user base is gone (70% estimate).

What is funny is the one or two times that people have gotten so pissed that they wanted to fistfight someone, hell I can't even remember who was involved.

Along the way, a few people got doxxed, and in trouble for posting at work.
