Are we talking a dog that makes a habit of killing cats, or just one isolated incident?

Did the cat come in to the dogs yard, or did the dog get loose and kill a cat that's allowed to run loose?

Dogs don't shit near where they eat. Cats sure as hell don't get to either. Completely justifiable.

Only if the dog doesn't finish the job tbh

The dog should get a shopping spree at Petland.

Depends on what you mean. A dog that protects its yard and is willing to kill cats, squirrels, bird or whatever is fine. A little more violent than I like, but fine. A dog that can't be around cats in the house is less fine. Would like a dog who understands what it means to share a household. A dog that breaks out of his yard to kill cats is much less fine and is not okay. In the very least, the owner shouldn't have such a creature if they can't keep them.
Well was it premeditated?

Depends if the dog is some rapid killer like your average pitbull killing pets walking with owners down the street or a dog being useful and taking care of intruders on their owners property seen from superior breeds such as doberman and German shepherds

As a kid I had a British bulldog named Brownie, and a cat named Suzy and her son Samson a massive tomcat.
So I'm out in my backyard fighting ants.....take some black ones and put them in a red ant hive......when I hear Brownie...yep...dog fight. This big German Sherpherd from down the street has Brownie down and it's not looking good, as I look for something to beat the..........here come Suzy and Samson, they jump on this dogs back and ........
It ended up with the German Sherpherd running for home.

dogs are more important than cats
if a dog attacks a human (assuming it's not a legitimate defense of it's owner), its a different story
If you consider how many frosted windshields can be fixed with cat litter and a sock, you start to see the importance of the cat, though it doesn't need to be alive.
Well was it premeditated?
It was pre-mew-ditated.

If ISIS beheads non-Muslims over religion, should all Sunni Muslims be euthanized? OP.
