Seoul is just too damn close to the border for a real war to break realistically. Last war there were a million dead and koreans lived in holes and huts back then.
N Korean artillery can easily reach Seoul from safe distances.
The only way I see uncle sam attacking is if they strike a deal with China beforehand.
Just dont see that happening so IMO there will be no war yet.
And :lmao at the retards believing N Korean threats. They been threatening the US for decades, yet US mainstream media still eats it up.

The famines and malnutrition of decades has got to make their army a lot less robust to supply disruptions than I think some realize.
I think a swift decapitation strike or two would immobilized them. The problem with autocrat's armies is that they fail badly at all levels when they do not have orders.
Two weeks is probably a bit less, but it would be short, with casualties in six to seven or even eight figures, most of which will be civilians in the south.

True, but China would be hard pressed to force project quickly enough to react in a meaningful way on the ground before a LOT of casualties. This is not 1950, and operational pace would be pretty fast in terms of rounds down range.
The Chinese have just about lost patience with their "little brother". You are right about them pushing a puppet government, but if the US and NK get into it, we have a huge trade surplus to hold over the Chinese.

Trump Just Tried To Blame Obama For His Bungling Of North Korean Crisis
Trump decided to retweet one of the most nefarious warmongering neocons of the Bush era, John Bolton, in an extremely unsubtle attempt to blame President Obama for his own mistakes – but he didn’t even have the stones to call him out himself.
http://washingtonjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/tweet-5.jpg
It’s true, President Obama did not feel the need to devote a horrendous amount of money towards developing a missile defense shield for the United States mainland for the purpose of deflecting missiles from North Korea, the threat of which he was confident that negotiation and soft power would be enough to deter.

Shep Smith: Trump Didn't Modernize Nuclear Program, Obama Did (http://crooksandliars.com/2017/08/shep-smith-trump-didnt-modernize-nuclear)
Smith said, "My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far more stronger and more powerful. Hopefully we never have to use the power but there will never be a time when we're not the most powerful nation in the world."
Then he delivered a truth bomb.
Smith continued,
"It was actually former President Obama who took steps to modernize the U.S. nuclear arsenal before President Trump took office."
"It was a $1 trillion project over 30 years,
but President Trump's first defense budget actually made cuts to missile defense,
despite protests from Republican lawmakers," he said.
Here we go again. Trump's glomming on to something President Obama did and then trying to take credit for it.

Regardless of these considerations and constraints on the North Korean side, if Pyongyang embraces the worst-case scenario for Seoul — the indiscriminate targeting of the capital and its suburbs — the damage would still be significant. Some research claims that overall damage and casualties in Seoul would be minimal, but those studies have relied on very conservative data, especially regarding the effective range of North Korean artillery systems. Many findings do not take into account newly deployed, modernized 122-mm multiple launch rocket systems with extended range, or the much more capable 300-mm multiple rocket launchers. If projectile flight distances reach proven ranges (or commonly accepted ones) and involve these new systems, then the northern portion of Seoul could be saturated with fire. Even areas south of the Han River could be within range of 170-mm self-propelled guns, 240-mm multiple rocket launchers or 300-mm multiple rocket launchers, depending on their position on the North Korean side of the DMZ. If every one of Pyongyang's 300-mm multiple rocket launcher systems were directed against Seoul, their range would be sufficient to rain fire across the city and beyond. A single volley could deliver more than 350 metric tons of explosives across the South Korean capital, roughly the same amount of ordnance dropped by 11 B-52 bombers.
The previous passages detail the very severe shortcomings of NK artillery, but they have a LOT of tubes. Even shitty artillery, fired slowly, with a lot of duds, would drop enough to kill a lot of people, if they chose to do so, which, in the case of a war, would be certain.

A TEXAS fucking grifter pastor, just as nutty and grift-y as any of them, totally detached from objective reality, like their Bible-humping literalism dictates
Trump’s top evangelical ally: God supports bombing North Korea
Pastor Robert Jeffress says the Bible gives the government “the authority to do whatever.”

pastor Robert Jeffress praised Trump’s aggressive statement as a function of divine will.
"When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear:
God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil.
In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un.”

Obama’s Former CIA Chief Just Gave Trump The Perfect Label For His Bungling Of Korea Crisis
“We are the ones stirring the pot right now in northeast Asia,” warns Hayden.
“The North Korean (nuclear) program has been on its predictable arc.
What’s new is our response:
rhetorically tougher language, even beyond what the President said Tuesday;
naval deployments in the waters off the peninsula;
nuclear capable B-1’s flying from Guam in full view of North Korean radars and seriously threatening,
punishing secondary sanctions against Chinese banks and industries.”
“It’s never a good thing for the president of the United States,” warned Hayden, “to sound like ‘Baghdad Bob.” :lol

Clinton’s Defense Secretary Just Blasted Trump For Falling Into North Korea’s Trap
“It’s always better, if you see an enemy that remains silent, that’s more frightening than someone who is beating his chest or engaging in schoolyard banter or locker room language,” Cohen told host Joe Scarborough.
“That language is not going to intimidate the North Koreans. To me, it’s always better when you see an enemy to remain silent,”
Cohen continued.
“That’s more frightening than someone who is beating his chest or engaging in schoolyard banter or locker room language.”
Silence from the President would have been more effective, he maintained, “and then let the diplomats like Secretary [of State Rex] Tillerson, let the others who are trying to bring about a peaceful solution to this have the authority to do so,”
“Simply issuing threats —
which the North Koreans are not going to take as serious,
because they know intuitively, I think, that
the United States is not going to launch a preemptive attack,
putting at risk hundreds of thousands,
if not millions of South Koreans, and Japanese, and others,”

"Why did it start this week?
The reason it appears to have started this week is because of this article from The Washington Post from Tuesday.
That article described a confidential assessment by one U.S. intelligence agency, which reportedly concluded that North Korea had miniaturized a nuclear device and could now fit one onto a missile.
That Washington Post report came out on Tuesday.
Since then, the president has been making these incredibly over-the-top, bellicose, alliterative, overt threats against North Korea.
… These last three days of, literally, nuclear brinksmanship, as far as we can tell, the proximate cause of this – what set it all off – was one newspaper report of a single agency’s reported conclusion,
which has not been bolstered by other sources, that doesn’t reflect any sort of formal, stated view of the intelligence community.
As Maddow also pointed out later in the segment, the same finding that Trump is freaking out about this week was reported
back in 2013 by the same agency – and they got it wrong then.“
The Obama administration didn’t take it and run with it,” Maddow said.
“This time, the ratio between the size of that catalyst and the size of the administration’s response is a very, very, very, very, very large ratio.”
The difference between then and now, of course, is that the United States is currently run by an erratic, reckless man
who loses his cool over just about everything, from public opinion polls to critical news coverage."

US Allies Warn NKorea Against Firing Missiles at Guam
I would like you to explain Trumps newest remarks.
Or answer the question:
Are Trumps statements on the forced reduction of Embassy staff in Moscow consistent with my theory?
But then, predicting what Trump will, or won't do is sort of a mugs game. He never fails to do the stupidest shit possible, just when you think he can't be dumber.
The thing about a good theory though, it that it both explains facts, and you can make testable predictions.
Fact 1:
Russia attempted to hack our electoral process through a multi-pronged attack.
Fact 2:
Donald "look how big my inauguration crowd was" Trump has done nothing but deny this even happened. He has shown no willingness whatsoever to hold Russia to account for anything.
Fact 3:
Donald Trump has a pattern of criticizing anyone, and everyone at the drop of a hat. Allies, enemies, courts, free press, nothing has escaped his remarks and twitter feed, except for ONE/(two) thing(s), and that is Russia/Putin
Fact 4:
Russian efforts appeared designed to support Trump
Fact 5:
Trump directly called on Russia publicly to support his efforts to get elected.
Fact 6:
Donald Trump has gone out of his way to meet and talk with Putin privately in person, with no American witnesses. This is the only leader with which he has acted in this manner.
Theory:
Donald Trump has been compromised in some way.
Either he directly owes them money, or they have evidence of some kind of him breaking the law or doing something he does not want others to know about. This theory explains those facts, and is fully consistent with observed reality.
Prediction:
Donald Trump will take no action personally, nor will he criticize Russia or Putin in any way in regards to the Russian attack on our elections. He may allow his underlings to do some minor, inconsequential stuff, and if forced to do anything by Congress will drag his feet, if not outright attempt to veto any sanctions.
The way to falsify the theory:
1) Trump criticizes Putin/Russia (good)
2) Trump orders/takes action that materially harms Russian interests (definitive)
Bullshit conspiracy theories fail very often because either: they cannot be falsified, or they directly conflict with observed reality. This theory can be falsified, and does not conflict with what we know as fact.
Donald Trump is unpredictable except for Russia.
He may be stupid enough to fire Mueller if Mueller starts asking questions that will expose how he has been compromised.
If he does so, he will be impeached. The Republican party will have almost no choice at that point. Congress will find their spine, because they want to be re-elected, and Trump will have gone too far for all but the most jaded hacks.
"Trump warns of 'dangerous low' in Russia relations"
See Fact #3
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/03/politics/russia-us-trump-putin-sanctions/
This statement is consistent with the theory and was predicted by it.

The veto-proof sanctions bill on Russia from Congress forced him to do something. His signing statement says that his administration will ignore or attempt to bypass as much as possible.

So, we caught a rather medium sized predator on the other side of the cove where Ted Kennedy ran his car off that bridge. But, the beaches are open. You say 'nuclear' everybody is 'huh? what?" You say 'Putin' and it's panic all over the joint."

Frau Angela Merkel, leader of Europe, bitch slaps the dickless orange fraud bully
Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany spoke out against the petulant pampered plutocrats in a statement earlier today, providing a much-needed voice of reason.
“I believe that, am firmly convinced that an escalation of rhetoric will not contribute to a solution of this conflict.
I do not see a military solution to this conflict, rather I see continuous work, like we have seen in the U.N. Security Council with members with resolutions in view of North Korea, and above all very close cooperation with affected countries,
especially the United States and China, but also South Korea, of course Japan.
Germany will be intensively involved with potential solutions that we see, not of a military manner.
But the escalation of rhetoric I hold as the wrong answer.”

He can't suck Putin's dick from a distance either, but his words can.
Listen to the tape.
See how much sarcasm you detect. Then find other times Trump has been sarcastic. It isn't his thing.
Havent actually heard the quote. Just some commentary from NPR stating it was an obvious joke.

Trump’s North Korea Statements A Boon To His Base
Trump’s base wants him to be decisive, she said, whether or not they agree with him.
“A sizable number of people prefer leaders whom they see as decisive, and prefer displayed strength and certainty, even more than agreeing with the substance of their positions,” Fitzduff said.
“What they do not like is people who they see as compromisers,
or not knowing their own mind, or
even consulting/discussing with others what they should do, or
indeed changing their mind re red lines,
no matter how sensible that might appear at times to be.
Strange as this may seem, research has shown that many people prefer ‘strong and wrong’ leaders to ‘weak and right’ leaders.
Trump’s base views him not just as a moral leader, but as an embodiment of the nation.
“Trump constantly lives by the metaphor that the president is the nation,”
Trump’s supporters think like he does—they support strict fathers who take care of business, are strict disciplinarians and embrace the use of force as necessary.
“You can only understand what your brain allows you to understand,” he said. “If that’s what’s in the circuit in your brain, that’s all you can understand.”
Trump’s psychological allure suggests his base will embrace his belligerence rather than abhor it.
Mari Fitzduff also said that many Americans actually welcome wars.
“Yes. Unfortunately many of us love wars—think about how glued we were to our TV’s when the U.S. invaded Iraq,” she said. “
This is particularly so when we believe we can win, and especially when we think it is only people ‘over there’—as has been suggested by [South Carolina Sen.] Lindsey Graham—who will suffer, not us.
‘If thousands die, they are going to die there, they’re not going to die here.’”
“Very few Trump supporters, or indeed most of us, understand the result of using nuclear as opposed to more traditional forces, and how different a war it will be.

looks like trump talk workedSo your bar for Trump success is now "Well, there was no nuclear Armageddon today."
We're just going to go back to giving the DPRK fuel oil and food. The only question is how much further Trump decides to elevate Kim on the world stage.
