Good news. Parker always was a fast healer. Will be interesting though to see if he can ever be 2016-17 Tony again much less prime Tony. It's a tough injury. Ended Barkley's career. But Tony surely rehabs harder than Barkley.

Parker was the second best playoff performer (and it wasn't close).... comparing him to an Australian Microwave who averaged 4 points on 25FG% against the warriors is laughable.

If the Spurs got Irving or Paul, then maybe Tony's not the starter. But Mills isn't a point guard and White and Murray aren't even NBA players. So whether Tony lost a step or not, he'll start over our bench scrubs. Mills is our back up 2 guard and Manu is our back up point guard, but he's on minutes restrictions and won't play 70% of the games.

"He's been doing his rehab like a monster, like a maniac. He's been working out like a maniac"

The injury and his contract had A LOT to do with this.

He was very complacent after the 14' Finals .. which has lead to his accelerated demise. The way he came back fat/ out of shape after the 14' Finals for the "repeat" season will always bug me as a fan.

That's good news. :tu
Hopefully he is not nagged by the injury most of the season like in 2015 when his quad acted up and he needed rest at frequent intervals all throughout the season, had generally a poor season and playoffs (his worst of his career? Not sure. It was rumored he wasn't 100% those playoffs either). Anyways it's good news. Him being eased in with minutes restricted is fine.

I had a smile when Danny said, I am not going to leak anything (but then leaked stuff :lol).

must be because you a biased fan

Parker had always been impeccable in that aspect. All who know him and those who lived in his house like Diaw, all are saying the same, he is pro and always worked hard in particular after an injury... his contract has little to do with that, Parker is just obsessed by the challenge of completing 20 years with Spurs this is what is driving him... a couple more MUSD in his contract won't change anything.

Parker needs to be at 100% before he returns, not 99% or anything less. He clearly wasn't healthy in the 2015 playoffs and he was beyond horrible.

I agree.
My main concern really is that he may have one injury after another for now on if his body is breaking down. I've seen it in other players(Kobe the past few years of his career for example). I hope that's not the case.

Somehow Tony was so slick in the paint he missed getting an enormous number of foul calls. I'm not saying he actually got fouled and a no-call as much as his moves were so slick he just didn't get hit as much as most guards scoring down among the bigs. Always got those angles to make clean shots.

When you think about it, Thanksgiving would be the earliest date on the 6-8 month estimate that came out when he was diagnosed. It's not impossible that he's meeting those optimistic standards. However, that projection was to heal from the injury/surgery. Even if Parker is healthy come November, I don't think Pop would play him for a while unless the team is really struggling from poor guard play.

Im ok with Parker signing one year contracts from here on out after the Spurs load up every offseason. He can still run the show and has a nice shot. But if Murray develops quickly Parker needs to be on the bench

Ah, guess that makes sense. Yea if the PG spot looks somewhat decent, I could see Pop having him sit a bit longer even if healthy.
