New president. We'll probably never know the full truth but I assume it's a case of him wanting his own people. Possibly used losing millions with the cancelled Houston game as an excuse to get rid of her.

I'm not sure what is going on but UTSA is doing some massive budget cuts, my wife works in the modern language department and they have had massive cuts, the guy who accepted the role as head of the dept just a few months ago stepped down and now it has gone back to the old head. I think UTSA is having trouble affording their expanded athletic dept.

No. Athletics and academics are two separate accounts. Honestly, it could just be that department since they broke ground on a new, massive science and engineering building just a couple months ago.
