"Ole Miss finished their*meeting Tuesday with*the NCAA Committee on Infractions. The two day hearing took place in Covington, Kentucky, a suburb of Cincinnati.

The Rebels are charged with 21 total violations, 15 of the Level 1 variety (most serious). Multiple outlets reported that allegations 1 through 14 were discussed on Monday. The most serious charges, including boosters giving cash to recruits, were discussed Tuesday in an 8 plus hour meeting.

The next step in the process is a decision. The NCAA will deliver a verdict in 6 to 8 weeks, including what penalties Ole Miss will face. That timeframe means a decision would be revealed in late October to early November.

A lot of my Ole Miss friends think the punishment won't be too severe.

I'm in the other camp. I think the NCAA will throw the book at 'em.

Ole Miss fans seem to be under the delusion that they are like Bama or USC or Ohio State when it comes to taking on the NCAA. NCAA might be afraid of a few programs but Ole Miss isn't one of them. I expect Ole Miss will get nailed to the wall, just to show everyone the NCAA still has teeth.
