Texas D is legit. The offense has a long way to go. This should be 28-0 or worse right now.

Our offensive line is gonna get Buechele killed. And the running attack is putrid.

Our offense is attempting to lose us this game.

Run the ball.
3 times in a row.
Lets see if the guys can push anyone downfield.

Uhh...

Our D was very bad under Charlie. We gave up huge plays and QBs would run wild on us.

The IQ is much better now.
Especially with our safeties and DBs.

Our major problem is a very basic thing. No Oline.
2 major injuries and no depth.

Fighting for extra yards instead of running out of bounds for a FG at the end of the half. Extremely questionable playcalling by coaches and decision making by Buechele. Wasting timeouts. Texas leaving 10-20 points on the field that other programs don’t. This is all the same crap happening under Charlie Strong.

Not even close.
These are college kids.
Charlie had 3 years to get it right.

Other programs don't??? The screw ups are one of the big features of college football. Other major programs maybe. Which we are still not. We will get killed when we play the Big 12 teams that run big 12 offenses if we can't move the ball on offense.

This offense is going to struggle we just don't have the offensive line right now. These guys need to grow up fast or we are looking at a 6-6 to 7-5 season.

On the flip side, our defense is extremely impressive in this game. The key is no major brain farts.

Ehlinger should be the starter. He absolutely can’t do worse than Buechele, and his ceiling is clearly higher.

Ehlinger has a stronger arm, much better runner, much more physical and a better athlete.

The problem.
Freshman and accuracy.

Neither QBs are like Herman's ideal QB for his offense. But our Oline is not gonna help any QB.

Carter does appear to be quicker.
But I know 21 is a really good blocker on passing situations.

Its a tough thing. We don't have an Oline and all our RBs have limitations. Now we start playing the real Big 12. I'm not feeling well. KState, OU, Ok St. They can all legitimately move the ball. Our D can't last the whole game with the # of plays we are going to play. I'm very skeptical.

Uhhh... You wanna mention the other games against Iowa St? Under Charlie? 24-0 IN Ames. Shutout, shutdown, embarrassed.

What happened tonight IN Ames?

And who said they are soooooooooooooo much better? We have played 4 games under Herman and are 2-2. Can we take a step back and wait?

Just recovered a fumble and returned it for a TD. Some dumbass official blew the play dead so the TD doesn't count.

serious question for you, since I know you are more knowledgeable than me about tech football.

what's stopping them from scheduling tough out of conference opponents? anything? I've always said that's why they start 4 or 5 and 0 but then fold once they play the heavy hitters in the big XII. IMO, it would seem that a team who's always looking to play stiff competition will eventually become acclimated to big games (doesn't hurt with recruiting either).

Tech hasn't had a big non-conference game since I can remember. What exactly is stopping them?

It's like groundhog day watching them beat up on New Mexico, UTEP, Nevada, etc every year only to get ambushed by whoever the annual Big XII favorites are every season

The only thing that shocking about this game is that Alabama was kind enough to allow the Rebels to score 3 points. Other than that this game went pretty much how I expected. No suprises here.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is wins/losses.

Starting off 3-0, now all Tech needs is 4 maybe even 3 conference wins to get a bowl game.

But I thought Arizona St, Houston and even Eastern Washington were all three decent non conference opponents......all better than Troy, tbh.

Wut? Eastern Washington is FCS. Arizona St looks like they suck. I don't think either is better than a Troy team that won 10 games last year and had almost everybody from that team return this year.
