View Full Version : Would Hillary voters choose her again?

The democrat establishment is short on contenders. Shes old but Trump is the same age and Bernies even older. I voted Bernie and Trump this cycle based solely on TPP, and I will vote Bernie again but in a general election mirroring 2016 I would probably vote Hillary this time around.

Do any Hillary voters see themselves supporting Hillary in 2020 if she once again becomes the de facto Democrat candidate?

Call me crazy, but I don't believe in the lesser of two evils. I don't vote a straight party either. I'd rather cast my vote on somebody that I'd actually like to see serve in that office. So that means my vote is "wasted" 99% of the time.

Because I fucking hate Clinton and her husband and I would hope the DNC lost in a landslide if they still hadn't learned that they shouldn't force someone nobody likes to the top of their ticket. I only voted for Clinton because I knew the Senate results would strongly correlate with the presidential vote (eg one party would get a narrow win in both the presidency and senate) while the House was rock solid GOP. So a vote for Trump was a vote for a completely GOP controlled government while a vote for Clinton was a vote for a lame duck presidency that would be able to get nothing by Ryan. If the shoe was on the other foot and the House was rock solid DNC I would have voted for Trump because the DNC needed a boot up the ass for just handing the nomination to Clinton.

If she's running against Donald Trump again, absolutely. Probably against Cruz or Pence too.

I can't stand her but it's a better option than continuing to let Donald Trump (or another ultraconservative) place Federalist Society cultists in high court positions and confederate relics in Attorney General positions.

Not going to happen, though.

Wouldn't that be up to the voters though?

I know the DNC heavily favored her the last time but it was not like they changed votes for her or did the equivalent of what the Russians did for Trump.

The onus would be on the voters, not particularly the DNC this time around with the knowledge of what a Trump presidency would be like.

People were scared to run against her in the primaries because it was finally supposed to be her time. I'll never forgive Biden for not running last year, he would have been president today.

The Democrat candidate, whoever it is, is going to be imperfect, have baggage, and isn't going to meet the ideal standards of everyone. I just hope the liberals who sat out in 2016 out of spite consider all of the real impact a President has in the less newsworthy areas like judicial appointments and voting rights.

Better to have a pile of shit that skews liberal than a pile of shit who skews sociopath.

Obama was imperfect with baggage. Hillary was pure dogshit. I mean she'd be a much better president that Trump but she has already proven to be a loser and the DNC would go down in flames again if they nominated her.

I would be really concerned if the Dems could not muster up ANYONE else in 3 1/2 years that we would be stuck with Hillary again maybe losing. She wouldn't lose to Trump again if it came to that.

But I have serious doubts that Trump himself will be running for re-election.

If Mueller doesn't get him, then the people will do it by voting him out. He doesn't pull PA, MI and Wis out of his ass again like he did the last time.

He's already let the Ohio and PA voters hang out to dry with his empty promises of bringing jobs back. It ain't happening.

Between her and this disaster we have sitting in the WH now? Are you kidding?! His entire administration is under investigation and you have gulls to bring up Hillary and that never ending witch hunt. Like I said, I would like to hope that the Dem's tell her to go away and come up with someone new. I def would not vote for her in the primaries this time around, heck I wasn't behind her this time until she actually won the nomination. But if it somehow came about it was between Hillary and Trump again I would vote for her 10 times out of ten. Trump has shown he is as dumb and incompetent as everyone feared and then some. I can see if Trump was showing flashes of at least being some what normal. I was even willing to give him a chance after the election, but he is so far a disaster, hence the fact why Hillary won't just go away forever because she probably is thinking that she has a inkling of a chance with this bumbling moron in the WH.

Nope. Picked her as the more centrist candidate over Sanders, but if the nutters on the right are going to go full Trump that gives me a lot more freedom to vote whatever the fuck. Hillary was, for all her faults, the best qualified candidate in terms of knowledge and experience in modern history to be president. I think she would have made an excellent president.

That said, I would not vote for her again. If she runs she will lose, and lose badly in any primary, because many Democrats, as I do, blame her for Trump, and she will never live that down.

The next few years will see a host of new blood in the Democratic party emerge. Booker, Warren, Castro, just to name a few. We will have a host of good candidates to choose from in the primaries. I look forward to it.

thankfully, hillary is not going to give us that option, but the DNC still could if they went with a clinton-like candidate. that would be a problem because the biggest obstacle to defeating trump is the ideological rift within the democratic party. do the democrats wish to stay very centrist (although hillary was, arguably, right of center) or do they want to become more progressive (policy wise, not in regards to how they want to market themselves)?

Biden, Hillary, Warren, a Castro, whoever the Clinton/Heinz cabal props up this time or any number people are possibilities. Remember Obama came out from nowhere and won twice easily.

The Dems basically told anyone who was paying attention that Clinton was going to be the next nominee when she was appointed SoS. The incessant GOP attacks for 8 years worked. You hear a lot of people parroting them in this thread. They aren't showing their hand nor should they considering it is the people that are supposed to choose not them. They ran the most undemocratic primary I can recall last year.

We should have had President Sanders now.

Anywho, Texas takes meaning out of a POTUS vote. Most of the time it is pointless to dem primary too. I have not in my lifetime. As such I will likely do as I have done for the same period of time: vote third party.

Why would they? The GOP has drawn up all of its proposals behind closed doors refusing to take any input from Democrats or transparency as to what the their bills would consist of.

Mindless conservatism. Your tribalism is obvious.

You can claim to be independent all you like but your actions are to bash any liberal and support any conservative. Any GOP member you don't like you label them as not real conservatives just like the rest of the mindless puritans you calim to not be a part of.

And still waiting for proof that Sanders claimed he would not support Clinton should she win the nomination.

I guess it's funny that a bunch of bleeding heart feminist sluts are thanking Hillary when she ran a shitty campaign that let Trump get elected.

I like the "divide our country" bit. As if calling attention to racial injustice is divisive to anything other than white supremacists and that ilk.

White trash is nationwide. For example, there are a shit ton in the Nacogdoches area you grew up in. That you gravitated to them in a different state is unsurprising.

Furhter, you should have headed farther north to KY. You would have fit right in. A town halfway between Atlanta and Nashville sounds like something you would have nothing in common with. You would fit right in Louisville OTOH.

For some reason board liberals see that differently than someone saying to a poor black person "just keep a positive attitude, no wonder you're doing bad, you're depending on welfare and you further the elements in society that keep you were you are" -Rich white guy

Referring to Reck.

And I mean empathize. You don't need to feel sympathy, just be able to try and share the situation and how you might deal with it.

For example: I believe I had/have a greater advantage at succeeding in the US because:

1. I'm male
2. I'm White
3. My father made enough money to send me to college and graduate school without taking out a loan. Huge advantage.
4. I was LUCKY in that what I was intensely interested and worked very hard at turned out to be marketable.
5. I was LUCKY because I was at the right places at the right time and met exactly the right people who understood my particular skills in an area that pays well and is a joy.
6. I am lucky to be healthy and work hard to keep it that way.
7. The things outside of work that I love are very inexpensive (except for airfare.)

Unlucky in that I never really had a mom that was well...So it seems to me based on what I listen to from others.

So when I look at others that struggle in different ways, I use myself as a reference point (go figure) and I realize I could have been in very poor shape and life could be very much harder for me. (And it may turn out that life will be difficult) But so far... Things have gone horribly right for me. This I believe very deeply. (Although I never win anything at raffles or drawings. But, I have also avoided being struck by lightning)

As a consequence. Taxes don't bother me. The accumulation of wealth from very hard workers with great ideas does not bother me (I think this pursuit in the cases I have witnessed is antithetical to happiness in many cases). I don't really believe people in my type of position are in danger of having rights torn away from them easily in this country. I can't stand bad information and the intent to deceive because it goes entirely against the way I work everyday.

So. I am a liberal to this board's conservatives. That's just strange. And I am a ultra right conservative to boots. Understanding Points of reference, empathy. Makes one believe they can understand others. That is all.
