Lowry: Interest in joining Spurs was real (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs/article/Lowry-Interest-in-joining-Spurs-was-real-12299328.php)

“It was real for me”, Lowry told the Express-News, "but it wasn't real for them. That's a part of the business that people don't know. I would have loved to come here, but it didn't work out. The conversation didn't happen. If the conversation happened, I would tell you. But it didn't happen.”

"Not saying that I wanted out, but I did look at teams to see what was going on," said Lowry. "I mean this place would've been a great place.”

Interesting thoughts from Kyle. Would you take him now over future Murray (a pick and Mills) or wait and see if DJ lives to his potential? Lowry would have been a nice fit in this team as constructed, but he has tendency to fell apart under the bright lights of the Playoffs.

No thanks, especially at his price. The guy gets paid more than CP3, Westbrook, Harden, Conley, Lillard, Wall, and Irving to disappear in the playoffs. Canada can keep him.

I agree his massive contract is a downer. In the Spurs he would be the 3rd offensive option tho (if his struggles are pressure related).

Can't give almost a third of the cap to a third option though.

If this was supposed to be a revenge game for him, well...

We already have a fat PG, he's just injured...

Dejounte taking the bulls by the horns basically. Feels better to cheer for a young player growing up and developing too. Glad the team didn't pick up Cp3, Hill or Lowry...

Of course, but he wasn't going to receive that amount of dough from the Spurs. Although after 12:01 and Gasoft I should not be doubting certain things tbh :lol

It helps the decision making when the team you'd like to go to shows zero interest also, yes?

I'm pretty sure if Lowry had lowered his salary demands enough the Spurs would have been interested. Of course the Spurs might have only been willing to pay something laughably low like the MLE.

Ha ha ha! Yeah buddy. I'll take this team over what you want.
That ish would be ready to 'splode with Kyle Lowry and CP3 on the same team.

He would have to have given up a TON of money.
We saw how well that went with that goob a few years ago. What was his name?
David Worst?

A few posters know how I was adamantly opposed to bringing in CP3. And Lowry's recent comments smack of after-the-fact stylin'.

Hey, there are many strong personalities on this board and it's a bit difficult to navigate everyone's predilections and previous posts off the top of my head.

Why the defensiveness? I don't know what your takes are, either. I thought we were just dialogin'.

I would have been interested in him for a lower salary. Something like 18 million is what I think he was worth.
