We are witnessing the evolution of the Kawhi Leonard of PGs. Just wait until Chip England perfects his shot...

What did Kawhi develop first? His rebounding. This kid is actually ahead of Kawhi's progression pace because of his age. Bookmark this thread for when he's an all star in the near future.

He is looking like a legit lottery pick and showing the promise and potential of Top 5 player in that draft....For the intangibles part: he clearly wants to be the vocal leader of the team..His interview game is that of 10 year veteran and he is already shooing Pop away Avery Johnson-style..:lol

If Murray's game ever catches up with his attitude he will be an All-Star.

I'm very happy to be a bit wrong about Murray. I was a big champion of the draft pick and didn't get why he wasn't in the lottery and then was bothered by the Summer League. He looks like he won't relinquish the starting role. Not saying he won't, but we don't win these games without him so far.

If you've got the physical tools & want it bad enough, you're already half way there.

lol I didn't notice that.
Time for him to ride the bench until he gets over himself.
But but he had a bad summer league...fathead is way better because of summer league :lmao
You know what else I love about this kid? His teammates all seem to love him. When a teammate does something well he is the first guy to get hyped for them alot of times. Seems him and LA have some great chemistry as well.

He will probably hit a wall or see his minutes reduced, but he could be a sleeper MIP candidate..

Murray's always said the right things. When you combine that with him playing awesome, it almost feels like a movement, in the same way #TheProcess was last year.
If you've got the physical tools & want it bad enough, you're already half way there.
If you want to be somebody. If you want to go somewhere. You better wake up and pay attention.

Grooming him to be that bad ass perfect #2 go to behind Kawhi.
If he keeps it up and Kawhi can get/stay healthy, this team can do some damage.

He has definitely bulked up as well with room to grow. Murray is converting that cheap, weak, flailing speed into productive instinctual moves, especially rebounding. I don't give a shit who we are playing, he looks so much better in every aspect. Even his TOs look reasonable, not constant schoolyard crap. Defensively we have a chance to see a monster; As a scorer, that's much more difficult. Run the team, open the lane with drives, make the right pass, hit a few physical layups... I'm good right now.
The way this team is running the offense right now is not to Pattys strengths. If we fall way behind quickly, then go small and open things up, Patty will fill his usual role as a shooting spark 2. KL returning also will benefit Patty as we get more open floor steals; Provided they are on the floor together.

I don't recall anyone saying he was a bust.. ppl complained he hadn't made progress and he hadn't at that point... maybe a tad of trying to do too much... too loose with his dribble, horrible shot selection, etc. maybe something was up physically or mentally... but what ppl complained for the most part was that he needed to be better.
he is improved and we can celebrate that tbh.

He will have bad games. A lot of them. I hope Pop lets him play through them. A young pup like him will always be inconsistent, what you have to pay attention to is the sparks, those flashes of greatness, and be patient to let him build off that. If you pull him out at the first bad mistake/game, you would be stunting his development.

The entire sequence from the time that LMA and Serge got the double techs until LMA bullied Serge on his sixth foul gave me goose bumps. I could just hear Pop saying,"Now that's some Nasty!" And his grin just confirmed it. Dijon definitely has leadership instincts that cannot be taught and the Spurs need. But even BPaul showed good leadership and smarts; he was actually the first teammate to restrain LMA.

Agree 100, Would be great if DeJounte could develop into a Magic-like leader leaving quiet Kawhi to be the cold efficient Kareem. (I am not comparing them as players, but leadership roles. For most the 80's Kareem was better than Magic, but Magic was the leader of that team almost immediately) With Kawhi so quiet and LMA so quirky we need a youngish leader type. Patty is the closest thing we have now. DJ could fill that role.
And loved LMA taking out Ibaka after their altercation. High payback. :flag:
