Man after reading all the threads this summer and pre season I was thinking we would be 0 and 4. What happened guys/lgirls??

Angry Lamarcus showed up (remember the guy with the Angry Lamarcus threads, he was funny and reminded me of him, anyways)
Danny 2.0 is in order.
Dijon ended up much better than the abortion he showed in summer league which had me bummed out I will admit.
Kyle showed up as well (despite much hate here, that will continue bc guys don't learn I guess)
Rudy has been awesome.
Manu is turning back the clock occassionally.
Brandon Paul has shown early promise.
Joff is better than I thought but can still be better.

As predicted though the Pau/Mills contracts don't look good though and were a considerable source of my gripe. All one can hope is that they will find a better version of themselves but so far it doesn't look good.

I can think of so many gifs for a Patty vs Jsimms duel tbh... will look around and post it in that game's thread will be funny.

Hopefully the ghost of Patty gets kind of an "angry Lamarcus vibe" and remembers he knows how to shoot and proceeds to make up for all the misses so far in a single game bc Orlando has been on fire lately and Aaron Gordon is looking like a star. So I will be fine if Patty shows up. Don't mind eating crow if Patty contributes to that win.

To be fair, I didn't read any ST poster saying the Spurs wouldn't win +50, like most national media said.

In the offseason, I was extremely worried about Pau's contract, Rudy's recovery, Murray's Summer League level and LMA extension.

Pau's contract still looks bad. I have to see LMA's level of play after Kawhi plays his first 15 games, to judge his extension. But Rudy totally surprised me and DJ is gaining experience while looking better than I expected.

I feel like Pop will throw a game trying to work out the kinks the team still has. It’s easy, he will play Gasol 30 minutes, keep feeding minutes to Mills hoping he gets hot, play questionable lineups, play Davis and Forbes forcing them to break out with a good game, to sink or swim, etc.

No to be honest no one could have foreseen the following -

Aldridge playing like a franchise players,
Rudy Gay recovering so quickly and putting up great numbers,
Danny Green developing his driving/dribbling skill,
Manu still contributing at a high level for his age,
Murray showing some serious leadership traits

All without Leonard playing a single minute, who I was wrong about being MVP obviously.

Great start for SA

Honestly for me I was expecting this with them playing mostly east coast teams but it still feels pretty nice.

My only big concern other then the 2 expensive dead weights we have right now, would be how well Kawai and LMA are going to mesh when KL returns.

Is Kawai going to need to downgrade his offensive output to give Mr Mah Touches all the touches that he needs? I have liked what I have seen from LMA so far but hopefully he won't revert back to his old pouting self once the ball stops going to him as often. Anyway I hope it works out.

LMA is averaging +20 FGAs per game. No one had those many shots in last 20 years in SA.
With him as #1 option Portland couldn't pass 2nd round and Spurs couldn't win a single game against Warriors in the WCF.
That's why I doubt his performances in these first games are sustainable.

I don't want to overreact, but I think this Spurs team may be the best NBA team of all time.

I'm that guy that made the thread last year... Called him BeastDridge... Lol
