It's not anytime soon. Took forever just to get to 4 teams because college football prides itself on having the most important regular season.

Add to that already F'N up by letting a beaten non title winning Ohio St into the final 4. That does not happen with 2 teams.

With 8 teams they are headed towards NCAA basketball where no one watches the regular season. Although constricting the playoffs might lead to the SEC teams like ATM to add 4 instead of 3 cream puffs to their schedule every year instead of actually playing schools in their own conference.
